The damned 40's.

I've got a ton of toons stuck in the 40's. The two-box pair that I did manage to get through to the 60's took well over a year.

Anyways, my 5-man team (Alliance) just hit 40 tonight and I'm shaking at the thought of getting mired down in the 40's again. Given the RAF, I want to maximize quests. What zones should I hit for a solid concentration of quests through the 40's?


... just don't tell me to go to Stranglethorn. I hate that goddamned zone.

Bad Lands suck quest wise (there are a few nice quests, though).
Tanaris is multiboxing friendly, Hinterlands as well. Run SM, Ulda and ZF for fun. Esp. ZF since it's really quest heavy. Make sure to get the mallet first (hinterlands).
What else.. feralas is IMO also in that level range. Lots of options.

Around 45ish IIRC you can do Searing Gorge. You should be able to hit 5x in no time, then start with plaguelands. Again, very MB friendly. The first quest in EP should get you to 58, you can then either stay there or go to outland.

Tanaris is a nice 40 zone as far as I know. Dunno how multiboxer friendly it is.

This is what I did.

I started doing zul farrak, and again, and I did it a third time, by this time I was like,

"oh screw this! I'm quitting!"

So I went to the bathroom. I looked into my eyes, and started to peptalk myself.

"You want this? You want 70? You better grind you laze m*****f****! Go on! Get in that instance! Show em what you got! HUZZAH!"

Then I went back into zf, one run, two runs, three runs. Yikes, this is so damn boring!

Back to the mirror. "Damn you lazy ass slacker! You want to fail that badly you sick masochistic biatch! Zul farrak is waiting! Pull yourself together, act like a REAL MAN!"

Back to zf, one run, two run.

Eventually the mirror trick didn't work anymore as well, so I started ordering myelf around.

"Come on you rotten piece of shit! DROP AND GIVE ME 50!"

Etc, etc.

Eventually I reached 70. And I got the muscles to show for it.

You hate STV, but the Green Hills turnin is a great bump of xp for a few minutes of AH diving, take a look at this list of BoE quest items, some good theft involved there, and stealthy's comments are a huge help.

I hopped all over the place in the low 40's. I hit Dustwallow Marsh first and did about 8 quests there, I also hit Feralis, Tanaris, Badlands, Swamp Of Sorrows for a couple quests. In the late 40's be sure to hit Azshara for the two kill quests as well as the tablet collection quest that nets a ton of exp. I did hit stranglethron for a couple quests out of booty bay that involved the pirates and killing the one elite right out of booty bay but outside of maybe 3 quests I avoided it completely. Then when you are closing in on 50 you will want to hit the holy grail of multiboxing RAF leveling and head to Hinterlands.

get the quest that is for Feralas in Tanaris Screecher Spirits ('http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?source=live;wquest=3520')
head to Feralas and do almost all of quests there, I would avoid the Zapper quests that you might get at the boat dock on the mainland, it's NOT an mboxer friendly at all, it's a timed collection quest, it really bytes.
the quest chain that starts with The Ruins of Solarsal ('http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=2866') isn't really that bad if you go into the cave south on the other island. I was able to get the drops for my whole team in a reasonable amount of time.
don't forget to do the kill quests given by Kindal Moonweaver ('http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=7956')

Pray for the feralas chick egg drop.
You need to get the mallot of Zul Farrak, so while in the hinterlands getting the mallot you can do all of the quests you can there. Pray for the hinterland chick egg drop.
Depends on if you are RAF or regular, RAF would have you at 45+ or more. Head to Tanaris and do all of those quests including Zul Farrak. Pray for the tanaris chick egg drop.

if you are RAF your probably 50 by now

I'd stick my head in STV just to do the mastery quests and green hills.

Hmm. I think my order is something like this:

Dustwallow through 42ish, then Feralas which gets me to 48ish, then Hinterlands which gets me to 51ish, then Felwood which carries me through 56 or so, then WPL or Winterspring.

This is all with RAF. Without the triple xp bonus, You'll want to do all of the above, which should get you through most of the 40s, then you can do Burning Steppes/Blasted lands/Searing Gorge for more in the high 40s.

Well, my post was mostly in jest, what I was trying to say is, even though it's boring and looks endless around 40, just bite through it, it will pay off once you reach 70!

Just do the quests in Souther dustwallow marsh.
hit tanaris, kill wastewander bandits, theives, assassins, summoners, etc. kill the two named mobs for the rewards. do the water quest where you spawn yourself some nice bettles, kill some southsea pirates, recover stoley's shipment, and, if you want to torture yourself, collect 20 pirate hats for each person.
hit hinterlands and do basically EVERY single quest there. pick up a quest in UC also to burn communication documents.
hit searing gorge and do pretty much alll the quests there besides the collection quests. you will be about 50 by the end of all that. you can also go back to tanaris to kill ogres now at around 45.
skip feralas.
skip ungoro. hit felwood instead. it will be a short stay anyway, esp with RaF.
