Arbitrary editorial decisions ? (26 boxer thread)

I know this wonderful forum resource is a free service so I suppose we can't complain ... yet I find it very very disturbing that Sam's [[Who's the 26 BoXoR RoXoR? ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=13257')][Who's the 26 BoXoR RoXoR?]] was locked down.

While I personally find Sam annoying and somewhat hopeless - I don't stand for arbitrary / unfair censure - I also fail to see how if sam was creating 10 threads with his updates instead of sticking to that one it would make things better for people who don't want to hear about the upgrades.

I think even with his challenges, sam's experiment is pretty unique in our world and deserve at least 1 thread...

So why was it locked down ?

Feel free to unlock it and delete this one if you came to some sense (feel free to also apologize as I think that would be most welcome and restore some confidence we have a community based on reason) - or maybe I missed which policy was violated in that thread and how closing it helps ? - feel free to explain that

ps: is prepared's thread getting locked - if not - why not - how is it different (beside obviously prepared being much more successful and knowledgeable and easier to communicate with but that's not the point) ?

It was locked down cause it was getting pointless. If you have something interesting to post about Sam and his related boxing activities as was stated by Fur, go ahead and make a new thread :)

and please drop the 'Holier than thou attitude' it serves no purpose but to incite hostility

It's not holier than thou - I'm genuinely pissed it got closed - I'm subscribed to that thread and somewhat sadistically and masochistically enjoy reading sam's update - and I don't see why more threads would help. seems to me like a very arbitrary/knee jerk reaction by someone just midly bored/annoyed - OR again I miss the establish policy that you can't use 1 thread to update progress or discuss the same subject ?

Other threads I'm subscribed to are prepared's 30 boxers; jamba's addon, etc.. and they are all long running and useful...

What purpose does closing the thread serve ? (I tell you why I think it's bad for me and others; now tell me why it is good)
