Since release of wow I have been playing on a PVE server, over the last couple of months I've been toying with the idea of rolling on a PVP server. After having a chat to my significant other we've decided we will both roll new five-man groups on a PVP server. Unfortunately, having no experience in PVP (battlegrounds or arena included) I'm a little lost with my choice of class(es).

My normal PVE group is five shaman (surprise surprise) but after playing them for months and months I'm not inclined to level another shaman group. At this stage I'm leaning towards 1 Priest + 4 Warlocks or 1 Priest + 4 Mages. As yet I am undecided and unfortunately a little clueless when it comes to PVP. I'm not looking at participating in battlegrounds or arenas, nor will there be any likelihood of running heroics-or even level 70 instances that matter. This group is purely for entertainment value of attempting to level on a PVP server.

So, keeping in mind that one of my five-man group will be a Priest what is your pick for the other class? Another thing to keep in mind, is I have played every class (solo) to level 70 and I'm very familiar with the ins and outs of the different classes.

Mages all the way bro. PoM+Pyro for insta kill rofls, Iceblock to get out of dmg, and arcane explosion to easily dispatch melee enemies (rogues/warriors). There is alos frost nova and blink which can be used.

Do you play around oceanic times? if so, roll on Frostmourne. Either horde or Ally, there are now 4 horde multiboxers. Jamien, guy starting with O, and a group of 5 mages and group of 5 shammies we have seen lvling up too. There are 3 of us on the Ally side, Tasty, me and Opt.

And Opt has retired :(

Anyways I voted but if you like AoE I would suggest mage otherwise Warlocks all the way!!! SoC pewpewpew

edit: For pure lol value. Five priests all holy just so's that you can outheal everything and anything :P

I have since started on Dreadmaul (oceanic), Horde. I'm running 1 x Priest & 4 x Warlocks. My girlfriend is running 1 x Pally & 5 Mages. As this is only an experimental group I'm not too fussed if the warlocks don't meet my expectations. I normally play Alliance, and have done since release, but as this is a complete turnaround I thought I'd try Horde for a change.

Now I'm in need of some PVP mods. What do you suggest as essential PVP mods?

you obviously need to see your target's castbar, possibly target of target aswell if you like.

that's it.

isn't fear a big problem is you don't have tremors?

The classes I listed are the only classes I could consider playing on a PVP server.

i have 3 mages and they are just too squishy. 5 shaman rock in pvp. I would love to try priest warlocks becaues a sl lock can survive longer than my mages. 5 shaman are amazing!
