So yet again i get my team rating to 1570 and all is well. today i tried to do a few games and all i got was full brutal/vengeful teams with 420+ resil. i manage to get 1 down if im lucky before all my characters fall over. tired of my rating taking a dump by 150+ points to teams that outgear me by 2 seasons. How are you expected to keep up or even catch up in gear on 340 points a week..Its sad tho you are faced with the same team up to 10 times even tho they clearly wipe the floor with you.. sorry just blowing off a little steam but if their are any secrets you may possess that will help me get past 1600 id appreciate it.

You just have to "queue dodge" by going afk fo a bit so you don't verse them multiple times and coming back later. But basically, this is one major design flaw with the arenas. Blizz are working on a way to fix it with an "under the hood rating" but then there will be massive QQ about 2k+ rated teams taking a 30 point dive because of well geared teams that are playing with a 1500 team/personal rating.

But yea, just try going afk or doing something else then coming back later so you hopefully verse similar geared opponents.

Finding the right time to play is key. On bloodlust-us I've found Monday at about noon server time is a good time for lots of normal teams to be playing.

But yeah, I think last week before I picked back up I went from 1650 to 1550 because I kept getting rerolled teams, and I'm to stuburn to que dodge.

The BEST practice is to play tons and tons of games against teams that beat you. Seriously. If you want my advice. Don't play 10 games, play 50 a week minimal! Until WotLK. Get more experience. Don't let losing put you off, you'll profit from the losses sooner or later.

I played 80 games a week on Vindication(EU) I lost a ton of games, was at 50% win rating. Thing there was, there usually weren't more then 2 teams playing at the same time in 5v5, so often same team over and over if they don't queue dodge. It was hard for me to climb. But now I migrated to a more active battlegroup. Started with 22 wins and 6 losses on the counter, then I faced a team that could beat me a few times, now at 23 wins and 11 losses. But basicly, doing quite a bit better then on my old battlegroup. Still, I could have queue dodged when I lost. But in all honesty, the last fight I did vs them compared to the first, I did improve, and that is what it is all about in the end.

You won't be able to reach 2k rating by queue dodging. Sooner or later you'll have to adapt to the teams you face and start beating them. So why not get the experience while gearing up first. ;)

I have the same issue. Even at 1200 rating, I keep on facing full vengeful/brutal(or mixed) teams that have 200-500 higher rating than I do.
I don't think that going afk to dodge queues is a good solution, because that's like saying "don't play the game and try to get a better timeslot later". That's completely based on luck and avoiding to play, while I actually just want to play the game at that moment.

But anyway, you used to be matched up against people that are equally strong, but since patch 2.4 you get matched up with teams of all ratings
I know that I'm not very skilled (I see myself as an average or slightly above average player), but I believe that arenas are completely broken by the fact that gear comes first, then skill.
