I walked into Stormwind last night and to my disbelief people were talking about how multiboxing is soon to be banned. About 10 maybe more people were all agreeing with each other. They don’t have a date but they were assuring each other that the plan to ban is already in motion. Please tell me this is utter bullsheet! This has me very worried.

I heard, that envy and stupidity are reasons for banning in the next patch. It's really cool, it's sorta the same system like in battlegrounds where you can report a player AFK.
The new system, will enable players to report other players as "TSTPTG" (Too Stupid To Play This Game)
With enough TSTPTG reports, the reported player will have to actually perform smarter, and act mature, or he will first gain a stacking 10%-slow debuff (much like the players brain is already functioning).
When the stack ticks to 100%, the player is permanently banned and his name recorded in a new website under http://hall-of-shame.wow-europe.com ('http://hall-of-shame.wow-europe.com/')
I have this from several reliable sources, however I will not provide a link, cause it is on my grandma's computer. Also, I have several people on this forum, who feels that this sounds really logical, and thus are inclined to agree with me, stating the above as factual facts of factness.
In other news, multiboxing is not being banned.

LoL great post ^^

I have had people insist on this incoming ban a couple times and a few others that insist it is already banned. I reassure them they are more knowledgeable on the subject then I am and that I'll stop the second the TOS is updated.

Mwuanno, I'll sign on for that as long as it works for all games, programs and internet forums. And after 2 such total incidents, the persons computer is melted into slag and they're barred from ever buying one again.

In other news, multiboxing is not being banned. In old muds it wasn't uncommon for a player to be turned into a permanent fixture, sorta like a public hanging. Just take their ability to talk and leave their account active, they get to stay in game as long as t hey want but can't move or interact... sounds like a win/win to me.

These types of things are ALWAYS rumors unless Blizzard themselves says something first. Banning multiboxing doesn't require an expansion - they could do it right now just like any other bannable offense.

I wouldn't pay any thought to anything anyone says (excluding your fellow boxers on these forums of course - within reason obviously *cough* fear changes *cough* Ellay ;)

Respond to these sort of claims with a phrase these imaginitive folks are likely to understand:
SS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.
Seriously -- people have been trying to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) for a LOOOOONG time. Until a GM or Blizzard employee confirms it, it's utter garbage.

Always ask for the source.
Usually (in this specific case: always) they fail to present any source.
BUT: They are always certain that some ingame friend's sister read on the Sims forum that some game developer's boyfriend heard his grandma say: They will ban multiboxing! The reason she is upset about boxes is they block her path to the bathroom ('http://www.consumerismcommentary.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/sumo-1.jpg').
Something as conclusive as that.
And anyone around usually aggrees.
