View Full Version : Why would keyclone possibly be doing this...

I have my Q button as my nuke for my shadow priests (presses 1 on the clones) 98% of the time it works fine but every now and then (most of the time during a boss fight...) it will decide to start pressing alt+1 instead of just 1, so my guys go from nuking to trying to accept quests etc...
I have to then go to each clone and press 1 on the keyboard and most of the time that will fix it.
Anyone got any idea what could be going on, some strange keybinding or just an error with keyclone?

Maybe you're alt keys getting stuck? I know my shift key gets stuck sometimes so I end up swapping actionbars instead of nuking :P just a thought

Q changes to alt+1 ? are you using any keymaps? a macro keyboard? (ie: G15 or G11)
otherwise, no.. there is no reason for that
I'm having the same problem ever since I switched to Vista. It happens when I use the ALT button (Alt+Tab for example). It would sticky itself and if I press 1 on the main screen, the 2nd screen would do ALT+1. The only way I can unsticky it is by pressing ALT only again.

I only pass keymaps or whatever they are called. I dont have it to pass everything except certain keys or what not.
I just dont understand why sometimes its fine sometimes its not. Ill try pressing alt next time but hopefully it fixes it, its a pain in the ass in the middle of a boss fight when all my dps and heals stop.

If you just switched to Vista you might also want to check to see if you have Sticky Keys enabled.
Control Panel >> Ease of Access Center (note it talks to you so turn down the speakers) >> Make the keyboard easier to use
There is some windows shortcut to turn this feature on and it appears as though I use it for something cause I find it ticked about 50% of the time I look at it. When it's on it creates a mess if you use the modifier keys often. One more thing to check, not sure if it does it for you but it took me forever to find it.

Mine was off also. Also pressing alt doesnt fix mine when it starts to play up, only fix ive found is actually going to the windows and pressing 1 like it should be doing then he seems to get the hint.
Any other people having this problem?
After a few tests, I noticed that it only seems to happen when I tab back into any of the two WoWs from Windows (randomly). It won't happen if I tab in between both of my WoWs (maximized windowed mode). It doesn't matter which WoW I tab back in (from windows), the other one will do ALT+<key that I'm pressing>.

Im not even switching windows or anything on mine, its just random, except lately its been doing it more and more which is shitting me off.
I run my 4 "clones" on my laptop which doesnt get touched. Ive just had to make 2 nuke buttons and move a few others around, hopefully this fixes it.
As usual dont expect a fix though, wish I had known about octopus.

I've got the same problem happening occasionally,
PiP keys for my instances are Ctrl+F1 - Ctrl+F5 and when I switch to another toon sometimes the Ctrl key gets stuck.
It gets stuck on the window you swapped away from, hitting ctrl again in that window will fix it.
(Unsure posting incoming:)
From what I've heard it has to do something with the way windows is handling the window swapping.
I noticed it sometimes focusses the wrong client aswell (focus from Windows, not the focus var in macros)
But since it always happens when swapping in emergencies I tend to just click through my windows 1 by 1 hitting ctrl and ending on my main window.
