Hello, once again i am sorry for posting this but i could not seem to find the right question i was looking for no matter how many threads i went through.

When i email the refer-a-friend email to myself and create an account, do i have to buy a copy of wow for each referred account?

Any help would much be appreciated and sorry once again for the question.

The email gives you a 10-day trial key - you don't have to upgrade it to a full account right away, but trial characters have a few annoying limitations:

* Inability to trade via the auction house, mailbox, or player-to-player.
* In-Game public chat channels will be unavailable. (Players will still be able to communicate using say, party, or whispers).
* characters will be unable to create or join existing guilds.
* Accounts will no longer be able to whisper other players unless they have been added to those players’ friends lists or have received a whisper from them first.
* characters will not be able to invite players into a party.
* characters will not be able to join parties with other players above level 20.

Because of these limitations, most people upgrade thier accounts straight away. Retail boxes are usually the recommended way to do this, as the upgrade is pretty much instant, whereas purchasing an upgrade online can take up to a few days for the upgrade to go through. And also, you can run into the 202 error using the same credit card number to upgrade your accounts.

Cheers,

S.

Not trying to advertise but when I was upgrading my new raf accounts I ran into Mr. 202. Anyway Offgamers was recommended to me by another boxer on these forums so I purchased my copies of wow off there to save having to go into the store. Just a fyi :)

Same here, I have no affiliation with the site, but was also reccomended it. bought a battlechest, some org. and some TBCs there. Guess I'll buy gamecards there as well next.

Another good thing about RAF:

Recruitmail sent to yourself.

Start the trial via the trial-key from the email. You get 10 days free.

Upgrade to a retail account, this adds 30 days. Now, as a retail-pre-TBC account, you have an option to TRIAL TBC for 10 days. Clicky, this adds 10 days ( I have not tried this, only noticed last time, but was too tired to try it out )

Then use the TBC retail key, to upgrade to retail TBC. This adds 30 days.

Technically, you should get an 80 day start account, for the price of a battlechest.

I am pretty sure that TBC doesn't add any game day.
