Saw a thread recently about locks and i was thinking of the five vs five boxer vs boxer with shaman and locks. Locks may have one (or two healers) and of course the shaman may have a healer too. The healers can be anyone from pally, priest, druid, shaman. Seems like in the first 1.5 seconds the lock team will only have 4 and the shaman will have two sets of dots on one of them which are easily healed through. now cl is on cd so in three more lb and six seconds later six dots can be cast probably with 1.5 sec cast time or not. If i am not mistaken dot casting vs lb and cl is the locks lose and the shaman heal through the dots.

With the locks pets if they could target several of the shaman and spell lock that would give an edge and if they were close enough to cast fear or deathcoil that may also give and advantage. Perhaps you need a macro for the puppy to eat the tremor totems and then run in to fear bomb? You would still lose one or two of the team doing this it seems but then the fear and dots might have a party. Maybe the succy for seduce? With only one healer when your healer gets focused they have to heal themselves and against really tuff FF is that even possible?

Anyone have any experience or considerations on locks vs shaman and what the strat for both is?

I smart shaman team shouldn't lose against a smart lock team.

A shaman team's biggest weakness ( at least mine ) is fast burst dps. To fast to react and heal myself. But, a locks team doesn't have this. They have high dps, but it's easily manageable with with a few chain heals that basically get you full again.

Plus, a shaman team has an I WIN button, and unless the other person has a very nifty setup for seamless leadership transfers... a shaman team would just target the leader warlock, and insta-kill him. Buying him a lot of time to get off some other casts before the locks were regained.

If the locks manage to get inside the shammies will be a bit harder though. A cycle of Aoe fears to interupt spell casts would be annoying and they can keep unning in circles cast instant casts til nightfall procs. Pets onto tremor totems (spam a macro for it constantly). And once the grounding totems are gone (stagger dots so you can get rid of all 5 in 1.5 seconds, instead of casting 5 dots at once which will probably all be eaten by the one g totem) they can chain death coil the leader away from the totem forrest. If the shammy boxer is slow, the slaves won't be able to cast because they will be on follow (so the shammy will have to rotate a bit to stop /follow).

I'd still expect the shammis to win though, 1 shot one of the locks at the start and probably kill a 2nd before they reach them.
