I have dummy macro buttons for heal party1 and heal party2 on my main. they are empty and hold a slot place.

on my slave, the healer, i have the following two macros in same slots.

/cast [target=party1] Flash Heal in slot 4

/cast [target=party2] Flash Heal in slot 5

now on my main when I press slot4 button my slave heals party1 player. when i press button in slot 5 my slave does not heal himself. so again i am missing something. i can harwrite the names but then i have to do it over when i mix and match my toons as to master/sslave. what am i doing wrong, please.

I seem to recall reading that "party1" works differently on your main than your alts. Party1 on your main = you. Party1 on your alts = the party leader.

To reduce ambiguity and issues in BGs when you aren't in the same party, you might try substituting "target=player" for spells you want to cast on yourself and "target=<name>" for targeting the individuals in your squad. Yeah, you'll have to edit macros with each new group but when you go by name, it doesn't matter what order or group you're in. ;)

Unless something has changed since my days as a raiding code monkey...

party1 is either the leader if you aren't the leader, or someone else if you are.

You are always player and never party#.
