Hello all,

This is my 1st post and as such before I ask for help would like to give a big THANKS to all of you who have created such a spectacular and useful website.

Now on to my question....

I came across the following thread that lead me to this wiki page; http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Focusless_Targetless_Leaderless_Setup

This seems like the way to go imo. I've had keyclone from the beginning and while I understand some of it's functionality, I have no practical experience in creating these keymap/hotstrings that it references.

How does one go about (literally step by step would be awesome) entering the following chunk of code into keyclone?; Does the '2' actually get coded as '2'? where do you put this '2'....blah blah...get the point?

Key-Map for ToonA:
‘2’ ---> ‘lightningbold.on.ToonA.target’
‘Ctrl + Alt + i’ ---> ‘lightningbold.on.ToonB.target’
‘Alt + Shift + i’---> ‘lightningbold.on.ToonC.target’
‘Ctrl + Alt + Shift + i’ ---> ‘lightningbold.on.ToonD.target’
‘Ctrl + i’ ---> ‘lightningbold.on.ToonE.target’

My understanding from the wiki page is that I would create this type of structure for each of my shammy's and then turn around and make a hidden macro. I've got the "macro" portion coded and I understand how to code wow macros, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to actually input this into keyclone.

Do you name each of these keymaps?

If a step-by-step for this type of programming has been put up before could someone point me that way, otherwise PLEASE HELP.

Thanks in advance.

I honestly don't know but would like to see as well. The best place for this post is in the Software support forum with a keyclone tag. aslo check out the keyclone website. You could PM Keyclone (the user - Rob) and he will help out but I am sure others want to see this too.

I'm not sure Keyclone is familiar with this either, I think the creators of the focusless/leaderless setup would be of more help. I'd like to know as well the step by step process.

I would like to know as well. The whole thing is a bit confusing and since I am now leveling rogues it is painfully obvious I need to use this kind of setup. If my main gets sleep cast on it or frozen I am done for. The only thing stopping me is really not understanding that part of the setup.

considering that the sticky for that set up is in this forum, I could see where one might get the idea it would be o.k. Maybe the sticky should be moved. Anyway, Keyclone has a great tutorial about how to set up keymapping on his website at Keyclone ('www.solidice.com') I know that Deceased (the brain behind this method) is/was working on example / Generic .kcl files, but not sure where he is in that process.

Ok all....after a few hours and a few trys here is what I've learned.

Step 1) From the Keyclone mainscreen --> Hit the Setup Button --> keymap editor

Step 2) From here what I've figured out to do so far is to "put text" into the hotstring field and then hit a key or key sequence. Next, hit the add button to push your newly created hotstring up into the keymap area. I added each of the examples from the wiki page. ****Important note -- in the wiki example where you see "Ctrl + Alt + i" my keyclone adds an "L" in front of both the Ctrl and Alt key (for Left).****

Step 3) When you're done adding your hotstrings to your keymap...Give it a description. I named mine ToonA as in the wiki example. I then saved it. When the window spawns be sure to actually "name" it again.

Step 4) After you're sure you've saved off your ToonA...hit the "new" button and complete this procedure for each of the toons you're creating maps for.

Step 5) I hit "Apply" and then "ok". This took me back to the initial keyclone screen.

Step 6) I then used the "connect" button on the keyclone screen (as I've set up the PiP functionality) to launch my characters WoW sessions.

Step 7) After each WoW session had spawned, I went to keyclone and "right-clicked" one at a time on each session and used the "Load Keymap" feature for each Toon.

Step 8) Created a macro called LBolt and again entered the code from the wiki and assigned it to each of my toons under the "i" key.

In theory I thought that when I went lvl4 wolf hunting outside of IF that I would be able to spam "2" after selecting a wolf and see 3 lb's catch him on fire...and what actually happens is that my lead toon fires the lbolt and the other two chars stand there....it's only when I initiate the attack using the "i" key that they all fire at once.

Getting there...slowly...please advise as you see fit.

Focusless, targetless, 'leaderless' setup. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=11459')

There is the best guide tbh!

Read it over and over while trying out in a simpel way.

You have to understand it for it to actually work.

There is realy no shortcut but when its done it was by FAR the best thing for me when it comes to multiboxing.

Gathering quests aint a pain since i can use them all as mains.. sure it takes longer but the looting gets SOOO much better when i dont have to go over to other windows!
