[wow]Castsequence 4xdps, 1 heal - how?

Hiho!

Trying to make a castsequence, where each of the 4 shamans heal the tank shaman. The idea is that only one shaman (per click) is healing, thje others are doing dps and the one healing should rotate to ensure equal threat distribution.

I tried:

/castsequence [target=party1] healing wave, lightning bolt, lightning bolt, lightning bolt
/castsequence lightning bolt, [target=party1] healing wave, lightning bolt, lightning bolt
etc...

which doesn't seem to work, is my syntax wrong?

The options of the /castsequence slash command are always placed between the command and its first argument, like so:

/castsequence [target=party1] healing wave, lightning bolt, lightning bolt, lightning bolt

Placing the target= option between the spell names is not allowed.

That's what I feared. So there is no way I can write a cast sequence where the spells target different targets?

/target party1
/castsequence [target=party1target, harm] lightningbolt, healingwave, lightningbolt, etc etc

i dont know IF it works
but in theory it SHOULD cast lightning bolt on the party1 target
and it SHOULD cast healing wave on party 1 cause it cant cast on party1target if it's hostile

why not healing with one and have 3 dps ? where is the sense in doing such complicated things ?

But if you're really needing constant healing like that, then I agree with devilsome: spec some or all resto on one of the shams and call it a day.

I have 5 shamen. I'd like to have one button to be healed by one of the 4 "non tanking" shamen. And to allow for equal threat distribution, I'd like to rotate who's healing. So, per click I have 1 heal, 4 dps.


But if you're really needing constant healing like that, then I agree with devilsome: spec some or all resto on one of the shams and call it a day.
Well, I don't spam that button all the time, but in certain boss fights, I prefer to do throw in a heal now and then, esp. since my gear @66 isn't that great. And respeccing everytime I'm going into an instance with a couple of hard hiutting mobs seems to be a bit overkill.
I now just use 4 buttons, good thing I just got mx x-keys.

threat should be an issue if you have 5 dps an one gets hit it will drop down his dps and other toons will catchup and even up. throw in a single heal from the toon being attacked and you should be fine
