1 Paladin and 4 Shaman, or 5 Shaman 5 boxing?
I want to do most of my own instancing, including heroics.
I have seen videos of 5 box shaman doing heroic MgT and other heroics and it looked pretty straight forward.
That being said, I also do plan on doing alot of pvping, so not sure how well the paladin would do in my setup as compared to 5 elem shaman.
Any thoughts would be great, thanks!!

For PvP 1 Shaman is better.
For PvE, 1 Paladin, 4 Shamans is better.
For me, I went with 5 Shamans, because whilst not quite as good as the other option for Heroics, they're good enough to do most all I want in PvE and Pvp without changes.

Curious what you think of your 5 mage team.
I was thinking about a 5 lock or 3 lock 2 spriest team.
also kicked around the idea of 2 locks 2 mage 1 spriest team idea as well.
I really like how 5 Shaman play, so that is really a bonus for me.

I woud go for 1 paladin with 4 shamans.
Why? PvP is still gonna be all about arena, you want to have a friend with u, fearbomb etc.
PVE, oh well, anything is alot easier with tank.

for me, I'm doing all three ^_^ albeit slowly. I have level 69 shamans, whih are a blast, but require a little more attention to movement, order, and heal setup. I'm leveling on a different server with a paladin as the lead, and the added survivability makes instances more approachable. I have a 4 lock / 1 spriest on the same server, but those feel like glass cannons. One of my macros seems to be messed up, and they seem to misfire onto non-aggroed mobs more often than my shamans. I haven't figured that out yet.
Anyways, the paladin feels sturdier. And for pvp, people love focusing on your main anyways, so having a signifigantly more sturdy main feels like it will be a huge boon.

I've went from 5 shamans, maxed them out in heroics and switched to pally and druid healer for a chance of pace... with 5 shamans you will die a lot, but when you get going and get the gear you need you'll fly through instances... pally and shamans plus healer is slow, but more safe... I imagine you can finnish heroics with less gear than my shammys did. You'll never go anywhere with 5 shammys in pvp, you need another person healing, period. With the xpac on the horizon I'd suggest going pally + shams, 5 shams won't be what they were before with the change to bloodlust and ToW and you'll still have a lot of fun.

I vote 1 druid, 4 shamans. Can respec any to be healing. All can do ranged dps, stack and overlap well with each other. Possible to boomkin tank even up to lower heroics (google it, awesome to watch) and if you don't like the boomkin tank, you can just go feral. Plus, might as well use battle res if you got it, right?

The closer you can get to a normal PVE group, the earlier and more easily you can can conquer instances. Like, right now, I believe you'd need tier 6 or season 4 gear to do every heroic as an all-shaman team. (could probably do SOME of them with much less) However, the closer you get to a normal PVE team, the more likely your team will be useless in PVP. I made a 5 shaman team up to 64 and switched it over to a fully mixed team, and even before the stacking change I am more fond of the tank + 4 other classes. It's also much easier to gear them all up, since they can wear anything that happens to drop, but they aren't fighting over it.
