Hey,

So for ages now I have had my 6 monitors placed on various boxes/books/shelves and I have been eagerly looking at the ergontron dual vertical monitor stands - but have kept putting off buying them due to the price (over $400AUD per stand...so $1.2k for stand??? No thanks)

By absolute chance I was reading some post on a far away forum (no, not pr0n) where I following a linky to a site listing all types of entertainment system stands. This is where I found the answer to my problems - the polo 196 dual monitor stand (vertical) seen here ('http://www.skunkworks.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=4_25&products_id=172')

I just have taken delivery of three of these puppies for a humungous total of $349AUD including freight!!! (was $20AUD flat freight for all 3 stands! very impressed with the freight as Western Australia is actually the total opposite side of Australia to where I am so along way to come for $20AUD!!) - so basically, I got the 3 stands for less than the price of 1 ergontron stand

Put it all together last night and everything looks smick - can honestly say that the whole pole system thingy is of a very high quality and everything fit together perfectly.

The only major difference between these stands and the ergontron ones is that these clamp to the desk whereas the ergontron ones I have seen are 'free-standing' - personally, I prefer the clamp for stability but to each their own

So if anyone is interested in some stands (even overseas people as the site suggests they can cater for you) have a look - props to the service people too as they were very nice and actually answered all my email queries within the hour

Disclaimer - No, I am not related in any way to these people or the company but have no problems recommending them due to my recent purchase and the quality of both the staff and their products

Ergotron ones can be free standing, clamped or grommet mounted. GOOD mounts SHOULD NOT be as expensive as they are. It makes no sense.

Not to mention, Ergotron doesn't make the hex stands any more.

I made my hex setup from a pair of triple horizontal mounts from Ergotron. One base, 6 screens.

I agree, they shouldn't be as much as they are. I just picked up mnie off Ebay when I found a good deal.
