I don't PVP but figured this would be a pretty big deal to a lot of you:

Wrath of the Lich King Honor Update ('http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=10532279664&sid=1')

I hate it - just because I don't have time before WotLK to farm honor/tokens - I vote for reset anyway, makes us all start from a new point.

I really don't like Blizzard caving on this issue. It sets a bad precedent.

blue has said stuff at 80 will cost a lot more. whatever that ends up being, My guess is honor cap will not be worth a whole lot at 80

and I am a pure PVE realm player.

If they where smart what they would of done is made lv 80 versions of the tokens and make the ones you get now only good up until lv70 and bam problem solved. You will have most PVPers bitching and complaining but hey what ever they will get over it.

I am actually glad to hear this, I was going to grind out on my mage to spend some honor before reset, but now I can grind it out to spend when i hit 80!

They are actually reverting to a previous precedent. For The Burning Crusade, they did do not do this reset so people assumed they would not do so for WotLK and began mindlessly farming honor/marks. As I no longer PVP, it doesn't really matter to me, but I think people that were hording honor/marks had a reasonable expectation of being able to use them at 80 based on how this was handled last expansion.

Edit: Quote from blue post: "many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past."

I just hate the inconsistency.

1) Vanilla wow -> TBC : No reset
2) For a long time a position that that although arena would be reset, honour would not be.
3) A clear statement that honour would be reset, and that new gear issued in the patch for people who had saved to buy up
4) Revert to 2

They can do what they like, but I made gameplay decisions at 3) based on their stated position, that's what pisses me off.

Yeah, they kind of screwed people, came up with a solution to try to appease them, then reverted back to not screwing them which screwed them even more. For people like yourself anyways.

Vanilla wow = no honor reset. Introduced new level 80 PVP gear that requires honor AND arena points. Observe outrage over forced arena for any worthwhile PVP gear. Introduce plan to reset honor with xpack release. Observe outrage over honor reset preventing people from stockpiling honor for buying assloads of 80 PVP gear as soon as they ding 80. Allow cauldron to simmer. Stir liberally. Revert honor reset change, but state that honor will be worth significantly less for level 80 gear than it does today. (Note ambiguous statement "significantly less" in the context of "preventing people from buying multiple pieces of 80 PVP gear as soon as they hit 80.") Observe sigh of relief that honor won't be reset. CELEBRATE as people completely forget about the fact that level 80 PVP gear will STILL now REQUIRE arena points to purchase. It's their classic MO. Introduce a HUGE nerf that pisses off everyone. When outrage builds high enough, scale back nerf to the nerf you originally wanted in the first place. Enjoy adulation from the populace that you didn't employ a huge nerf, combined with a minority of bitter whiners saying "THANKS FOR CAVING, YOU TARDS."

It's really, as one of the blue posters said yesterday, a "lose/lose decision" and we got the best of the options available based on their plan. /shrug

I spent 54k honor on 5 toons , but they are really great up grades that will help me lvl from 70-80.
team is 68 now but when 70 will have two great items to use right away.

this was done mainly for gear and fact that I had 60 plus av tokens in mail :)

I wish they would allow trade in of old gear for a percent of tokens and honor credit back :)

Well great. I purposely didn't do any arena to avoid wasting money on useless points. Well, I suppose I'm planning on doing only PVE, so maybe not a big deal. If I do arena it will be just sitting there getting beat on for points.

Now that half of you have more than likely spent all your honor points, we've decided against resetting them.

We hope you appreciate this decision.

Am I doin it rite?

I wonder if they where just tricking us that honor points will be reset so that people will us at least some of it up. What would be funny if they turn around and say that the gems from honor points are STILL going to be bop. That would piss a lot of people off cause that is what they probably spent there points on.

Edit: Quote from blue post: "many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past."There was really no point in doing an honor reset at that point, The Spendable Honor Point System was introduced a few weeks before in the TBC patch so it wasn't as big of an issue as it is now. Resetting honor and marks was in my opinion a good start for a new expansion.

Good point but in the end I don't think any of it matters. The pieces are going to be way more expensive and require some arena points plus there is always going to be some people better geared than others and if it takes an extra season to catch up, no biggie. I mean the main argument is coming from people that haven't been playing the game as long and so want a level playing field when they hit 80 but even with a reset that's not going to happen. There will always be someone out there with more time to bg/arena/raid than the next person and they are going to outgear other people very quickly. For example:

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/205/honorrecordgn8.jpg

Look at his honor for one day. Or this thread ('http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html;jsessionid=CF063643FC514C00D2FC8CCCCA6 4199C.app11_05?topicId=7475634046&sid=1') where people are getting plus +10-15k honor a day.
