Anyone run kara/ZA as 5 shaman + 5 "normals"? Some people in my guild have alts that they still like to take through kara and ZA now and then on the raid offnights, i'm not expecting to be able to pull off bear runs (my gear is terrible) but would like to clear each instance in a reasonable ammount of time. Who's run these places as multi-shaman + normals and do you have any tips? We are probably going to hit them up this or next weekend
I would just be doing DPS with the normals covering tanking and healing

I am only playing 4 shamans, I would say good geared .. If there's a pala tank, we can do kz in around 2 hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes - if everything goes smooth. ZA takes less time, haven't done any timing.

Cool that's good to hear, any bosses that you find particularly tricky?

Cool that's good to hear, any bosses that you find particularly tricky?I've only wiped on Prince, due to someone overaggroing or something like that .. Except for that I haven't wiped on ANY boss in KZ. I thought that Netherspite would be difficult, but it's not really .. If you're equipped with pvp gear, dmg is not an issue - I even had to take the blue beam the first time all alone, I mean, swithing 4 characters in an out of the beam (watch debuffs), while avoiding void zones .. and don't forget to deal some dmg :) Maybe I should say, that you should bring a melee dps class, that can take care of the trash after Curator (feral druid might do it).

I have ran it a couple times. FIrst time right after I dinged 70. That took like 5 hours was due mostly to people dcing for long amounts of time and having to find replacements. Now that I am better geared I went in there with a guild alt group and destroyed the place. Still haven't gotten another shot at Shade which I think would be the hardest fight.
The first time i went in there They wanted me to be completely in charge of interrupts and that didn't work out well. My plan if I ever get back to him is just to blow him up.
I also had little big bad wolf for the first time last week. First attempt I pulled agro right from the start and then lost everyone. Second attempt I waited 15/20 seconds popped all five fire ele's bloodlusted/trinketed. Wolf went down really really quickly. I think he only had time to turn one person into little red riding hood.
Find a group that doesn't take it serious and go have fun with them. They will be impressed with what you can do once you learn what you need to do. Also if you just recently dinged 70 make sure to bring mana pots along. It is bad news when 5 of your dps go oom.

Shade of Aran is really easy, it's nothing different from the normal fight. - I don't interrupt at all.

I have qaud boxed kara af few times, even whit pugs, but since i 5 box 4 elemental shamans, and 1 prot paladin i wantet to try it again and did so today
Main tank + 4 top spots in dmg meter :), only nightbane was hard, but he was relly hard , had to remarco and had my 4 shamans focus follow and assist on a warrior, so after a fear and when the gound burned, i pressed follow focus and he ran them into possion, then i pressed move back and thay stopped follong him, and he could return to his dps
But we manged to clear it all in 2hrs 40 mins and only had one wipe on netherspide when both healers mangede to die O_o

I run Kara with my guild every week for a full clear. All bosses were easy other than shade and he was simple once I figured out a strat. Did ZA this week with the guild for a full clear. Dragonhawk and last boss were the toughest just because I was noobing things up.
Shade - I set up in the doorway. Have a tank on Shade in the middle so he doesn't move around.
Fire Wreath - Nuke like Crazy
Arcane explosion - Spam follow and walk toward the closest wall - move all shamans forward so they are touching the wall at the end - most the time I'm in line with the door so I just walk into the opening
Blizzard - this was the tricky one - look at where its at - if there is a question move to the center and don't cast. Evaluate. Move out of the center to a spot behind the blizzard and follow it back around to the door burning him down while you do it. Then stay put.
40% - Anytime you would have been burning him - burn water elementals instead - I pop fire elementals here normally - it is great if you can have him hit 40% during a fire wreath so you can just sit there and target/burn water elementals
ZA
Dragonhawk - Is tougher to stay out of the orbs than with a single player. But can be done. Other than that standard.
Last Boss - Phase 1,2 - Tank and Spank
Phase 3 - I dropped searing totems and earth elementals. Then I set up on a side all the way against the wall with the shamans spread out against the wall. I would chain heal anytime one would take damage from a tornado. Then I just waited for our 2 melee dps, the totems and elementals to get him to 40%.
Phase 4 - Burn and heal if a sham got claw swiped
Phase 5 - Burn burn burn move burn burn burn move - stay out of the columns of fire
