Heya everyone! I am thinking of building a new computer for my 18th birthday =] and have looked at a few things on Newegg. I am just wondering if there are some suggestions as far as what parts I should be getting for the best performance/ quality, or if there are some better selections I can make. [NOTE] I will be aiming to 5-box on this one single machine.

Here's the list:

CPU - AMD Phenom 9950 / 2.6GHz / Quad-Core Processor

Mobo - NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI

VidCard - EVGA 9800 GTX+ Superclocked Edition 512MB

Ram - (8g Total / 2 of these) OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB)

Case - XCLIO Windtunnel

Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional

Power Supply - ABS Tagan BZ Series 700W

Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar 640GB / 7200 RPM / SATA 3.0Gb/s

CD/DVD Drive - LITE-ON 20X DVD±R

Heatsink - ZALMAN 9700

Extra Fan - Thermaltake 120mm

Monitors - Gateway 22" Wide / Acer 17" Wide

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate (or) Windows XP Pro (Not sure if I wanna switch)

It seems like a pretty solid machine but I'm not sure yet so I thought I'd ask for suggestions ^^ ; and on another thought, would it be better to just keep my main machine now and buy 4 lower-end machines? I can do either of the two. Thanks in advance for the help!

I dont think you will have any problem running 5 clients on that one machine.

The only suggestion or change I would make would be to have both monitors the same size. Not a deal breaker but it helps.

Just a suggestion, why not do two hard drives. Don't neccessarily have to do two 640 gigs. I run two 300 gigs, both 7200 with 16 MB of cache and it works wonders.

If you want to run 8Gb you only have one choice - Vista Ultimate 64.

XP will give you 3.5Gb available ram

My machine is almost identical, except with last years AMD components, so I can tell you that you have more than enough to box effectively. I'm actually upgrading to the same type of RAM but I think I'm going to wait for the next AMD chip release which is supposed to be soon.
