So I have just purchased keyclone and instaled it on my host computer and I am now trying to copy my licenece key to my other machine which will be the client. I found where you insert the key but the area is greyed and not able to be changed? How do I get my client pc to copy the key code from my main?

I tryed searching but all I have found is talk about master and slave, but couldnt find info on the above.

Thanx in advance.

Chad

howdy Chad and welcome to the forums!

keyclone's license is associated with the system-id. as such, you need a license for each computer you wish to use simultaneously. (moving to a new machine does not require a new license, just a transfer. check the FAQ or PM me for more details)

i hope that helps. if not, please feel free to drop me a note.

have a great day,

Rob

Hi thank you for the quick reply Rob

I only have 2 characters and 2 computers, I just want one host and one client PC so my main pc runs at full speed with no problems.

Surely this dosent mean I need to buy 2 copys of keyclone? For 1 clone? (1 main one clone) This is a local machine on the same home network, im not trying to share the key with someone else.

Il also read the FAQ now that I have found it lol

*EDIT* Not cool man, not at all. After going deep into the FAQ it saiz you need to buy a copy for EVERY computer even if its your OWN local machines. The main reason this has me pissed off is that I think it should deffenatly mention this on the main home page and also as you download it. I dont mind paying for stuff but I hate finding hiden extras, and since this was a "keycloning" program that lets you play multiple characters at once I had just assumed you would not need a copy for every character.

I know on the home page it saiz 5 wow, 1 machine, 1 keyclone, 1 time payment, But I do think this is somwhat misleading IMO since you see 5 characters are being controlled by 1 keyclone

IMO since you see 5 characters are being controlled by 1 keyclone

... and all run on one machine.

I really dont know what you find misleading in

5 wow CHECK
1 keyclone CHECK
1 time payment CHECK
1 machine FAIL

if you want to use keyclone on 2 machines.

Maybe KeyClone should raise the price so people read the product information more carefully! :D

You have a choice.

Run both characters on one PC. Or buy another keyclone license. Or you could try using some of the free software.

I only have one thing to say.

Compare a hardware multiplexer and the price of 2 keyclone copy. you will see the price is incredibly lower with 2 keyclone copy and work like charm :)

I had just assumed you would not need a copy for every character. You don't. You need a copy per CPU, well documented.

If you have a beef with that, use a free program, and if you ask Rob he may just refund you the one you did buy.

Personally, KeyClone is a steal at twice the price...

Just for comparative purposes, here are some other commonly used software programs that require a license per machine:

Norton Antivirus

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Office...

You get the idea. Keyclone is much less expensive then these. And, like Linux, Open Office and free av programs, there are free alternatives to Keyclone like Autohot Keys.

So you read all of the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS after you bought it? This is not his fault. I understood that I needed to buy multiple copies. I hardly think 20 bucks per machine is much for what you are getting and that license is perpetual. As pointed out, most software requires you to purchase a license for every machine. Hell I have even had him move my license from an old machine to a new one(I stopped using the older one).
