I am running both accounts on one cpu. I went to upgrade the second account to TBC and it 's telling me I need to download the TBC patch on my cpu. Do I still need to do this even though it's already on the cpu for my main account?
I guess I'm just confused. I know the second account needs an u/g to TBC, just not sure how that needs to be done.
Nope, you should be able to simply enter your key...
Go to worldofwarcraft.com
click my account
enter your user info
There should be an option to upgrade to the burning crusade, click on it
There should be an option to "If you already have a key, click here to enter it"... or something to that effect
Enter the key. Your 2nd account should be upgraded.

Well that's what I thought but I did the "10 free day trial" download option. They aren't giving me the key in the email and info I was sent. The only option is to download. Should I just buy the dang thing online instead of messing with the trial? Will I then get a code, or still need to download?
I looked online and it doesn't appear they will give me the dang key
haha, I'm actually familiar with that trial key (just made some new accounts). You should be upgraded. 10 days from now they'll prompt you to enter a key.
Also, if you see a little green square that says [ ] TEN DAY Burning Crusade (expires: x/y/zz), then you're golden for right now. It should be listed under your personal information right when you log into the "My Account" tab

Brilliant! Thanks for all your help Rin. You're correct, I summoned my alt to Silvermoon and it worked this time. :)
