Assist macro - quick can it be done question

Lo all, i currently use the assist main setup. I was wondering is there a macro to assist BUT if the main isnt there to just attack the selected target. for example.
Main dies....
switch to a random slave..(omg ive only got assist keys)
not to worry you can still use the keys as the main is dead??

I do plan on trying out the leaderless setup once i hit 70 but for now i am used to /assist.

The macro section of the wiki has several 'assist character if not dead' macros, but since creating a not dead macro setup takes about the same amount of time as setting up a leaderless setup, I would recommend to just go with the leaderless setup.

looking at the leaderless setup scared me, looked like it was beyond me. i might just bite the bullet and try it tonight.

omg i must be going blind, i cant find the leaderless thread. anyone have a link or has it gone?

ok ive been doing some reading and i get the general idea with leaderless setup but i am stuck at the first hurdle,

2 --> LBAT
Ctrl-alt-] --> LBBT
Alt-Shift-] --> LBCT
Ctrl-Alt-Shift-] --> LBDT
Ctrl-] --> LBET

how do i hotstring this?

i opened up keyclone and got as far as entering
under the key box i entered 2 then after the >>> its the hotstring key. what goes in here? surely i dont put in LBAT?

I have given up, this seems to beyond my abilities. nothing seemed to work and when i tried to press them the slaves just displayed the macro text in /say. need to stick to assisting :(

/cast [target=targettarget, nodead, harm][] lighting bolt



basically... it will cast lighting bolt on your target's target if its not dead and not friendly. or..... it will cast lightning bolt.

i tried to press them the slaves just displayed the macro text in /say. need to stick to assisting this might be, because you copied the macros in the wiki/thread directly, without removing the line-breaks.
In you macro every /cast / /castseqzence or /target must be only on one line

Try just setting it up for 2 characters at first. That way there won't be as much confusion. Once you get a grasp of what's going on with keymaps you can expand it to your other toons.

That's how I add new "features" to my key maps. Just one character at a time.
