Am I to assume these two have good synergy as a dual box combo because of mana regeneration?

Im just looking for a good partner for a paladin up till level 60

sadly, i can't find the original wow forum post i read so many years ago
but yah, paladins are virtually a hands free class, perfect for beginner tanking/multiboxing

it's not so much paladin + shaman as paladins are just great multiboxing tanks
i actually like shamans because of their totems, some very interesting (and automatic) effects you can't get elsewhere in the game

Im currently using 4 shamans + 1 pally. I used RAF to level 5 shamans as a pally just stands about usually when levelling. I levelled the pally up using RAF at 60. For questing the pally doesnt do much but really helps a ton for those nice quest lines which end up with killing an elite. Instance wise the pally is excellent. A tankadin with the buffs they bring. I havent regretted this set up at all and instancing has been great.

Im speaking strictly from a 2-box perspective. The Wiki basically covers 3 to 5 box setups.

Im trying to pick a class with the Paladin that will equal zero downtime. I know a mage is good, but Im thinking a Shaman with heals/dps/windfury (and mana regen to a point) totem would also work well with a Retadin?

Also this gives me the option of leveling 3 more shaman at a later date for a Paladin + 4 Shaman five box.

I dual boxed my pally to 52 with a shadow priest. As Ret I was taking out mobs much faster than I could ever regen or leech mana. I am sure its possible to get to a point where you can go none stop without drinking but I have yet to achieve that with any mana class without having to slow down or alter my play style. After 52 I merged him with my 5 box team and needless to say we killed things before my pally even engaged most of the time.
