View Full Version : G15 Macro with WoW & Keyclone

I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue, but thought I'd ask.
Keyclone has five regions on my screen. Shift F1 through Shift F5.
I've created macro's in warcraft which have been keybound to Shift F1 through Shift F5.
The macro essentially targets the toon who's window is being brought to the front, makes them the focus, promotes them to party leader and then clears my target.
Manually pressing Shift F2 to switch to the second toon executes both my Leader/Focus shift macro and Keyclone for changing the active window.
Moving these macro's to my G15 unfortunately only sends the Shift F-commands to Warcraft but not to Keyclone.
Is there a work around for this?

make sure your G15 wow profile is locked in. the G15 will slide it's profiles around depending on which application is running, which it could see as keyclone.
hopefully, just locking the wow profile should do it for you
:D

Thanks for the quick reply.
I'll try that, as I'd really like to free up 5 in-game macro's if possible.

Still having the same problem. Anything G Key with with Shift / Alt / CTRL + Whatever will not work by pressing the G Key. Press the key combo manually and it works. Load wow without keyclone and the G Key works fine.
I have checked my G-15 profiles over and over, they are fine. I have reset everything with the G-15 to default, un/re-installed the g-15 profiler / Keyclone and it still doesn't work.
Thing that sucks is that it used to work fine. I have since stopped using any macros on my g15 that contain shift , control, and alt.
Scratch that, I re-read the issue. Missed a very important word the first time.
Long time lurker... 1st time poster... I recently tried adding shift/ctrl/alt to my G15, and same thing... profiles locked, set as default, etc... but i'll keep playing with it...
BTW Love keyclone, its awesome...even for a 5box noob like me
EDIT:
I was playing with some in game macros (with the "?" icon) assigned to shift+F5 (G1 on the Keybd) and it seems to just be doing the "down" action...if its any help ?(
EDIT to the EDIT... lol... Check your other key bindings INGAME i had shift+F5 default binded to target member4... stupid default bindings ingame... LOL... :cursing:
Also you can use the default "assign keystrokes" instead of assigning it a macro... huzza! lol...

Here's how I have my GKeys working in WoW with Octopus.
Firstly, my broadcast key is 1 on the numpad. This can be whatever you want to set it to, I personally kept it something I'm not likely to press while on the main section of the keyboard since I usually just alt tab to fix any errors with my alt.
Next, go into the gkey profiler, select one of your keys (for example, G1) and instead of doing assign keystroke do assign macro > create new macro. This will bring you to a little window where you can create new macros (if the program has picked up your installation of WoW you'll likely have many more similar macros you can assign, ignore these for now, however some are quite nice to remember). Create a new macro, name it something logical (for example, Octopus G1) and then start recording a keystroke. Ensure record delays is unchecked, then firstly hold down your broadcast key, and make sure you hold it down for the duration of while you're recording the macro, or else it will not work. After that hold and release your keys so that it looks something like this:
v NUM 1
v CTRL
v ALT
v F1
^ F1
^ Alt
^ CTRL
^ NUM1
Repeat process with as many keybinds as you think you'll need (I personally lost interest after doing the initial 18 keys...) and then bind them ingame using Bartender etc.
Happy dualboxing.

My understanding is that the g15 was illegal and will get you banned. A guy in my guild got suspended or banned for it. Can anyone elaborate on that? Sorry if this is a hijack but it is partially related. :)

You can get banned if you use some of the features that are available, such as the quick-macros or whatever they're called. Basically these let you:
Hit "1"
wait 1.5 seconds
Hit "2"
wait 1.5 seconds
Hit "3"
That's basically automation, and will get you banned. What you can do, however, is map those G Keys to a keybind. I use keys that are on the other side of my keyboard, or keys I don't use a lot. My formation macro is G1 and G2 (spread out, come back) which is hotkeyed to PgUp/Pg/Dn. Stuff like that is perfectly OK.

@ blabj ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=User&userID=14743')The main issue is that some of us cant get the G Keys to use Keystrokes containing SHIFT/CTRL/ALT. I like to use my numpad for keybinds too, but it is really easy for me to press those buttons without binding them to the G Keys. I prefer my g keys to look like this
Shift + Insert
Shift + Home
Shift + Page Up
Shift + End
Shift + Page Down
Control + Insert
Control + Home
Control + Page Up
Control + End
Control + Page Down
Etc.
The problem is that, when run with keyclone, the G Keys containing those keystrokes will not function. Turn off keyclone and they work fine.... BUT ... who here plays without Keyclone? ;D

My G11 (Same without the screen) is programmed for ALT+Q to ALT+V and works fine through keyclone.
Are you by any chance running VIsta? You'll probably find you need to run the keyboard profiler as administrator or it's not going to work.
I got mine to work with the shift/alt/ctrl +F key's... just got to make sure the default bindings are not interfering... i.e Ctrl F1-F5 are mapped along with Shift F1-F5
Again, Keyclone is win.
lol...

lol...Yeah, been through that 100000x. Old issue, only happens when keyclone is running, not counting on ever seeing it working again.
Not sure wtf is wrong with it, but it sucks. ;)

Still sounds like a Vista permissions issue to me. Keyclone/Octopus will probably be unable to relay the keystrokes from Logitech mouse/keyboard software unless the logitech program is running with administrator privileges. This is true even when the logitech software in question works perfectly well with a single instance of WoW, notepad or whatever. I ran into pretty much the identical issue with the setpoint software for my MX Revolution on day 1.
If you're not running Vista, then you have my apologies.

Thinking back on it all, I was having errors with the Logitech app a few months ago and had to reinstall the whole thing. Obviously, I forgot to re-enable "run as admin" on the Logitech app... glad it was something so simple.
Thanks!

The G15 can be used for one keypress = one in game action, even if that action is once per account.
It can also be used for one G-key Keypress = multiple in game actions.
If you use the G15 for one press does one thing (per account), you're completely fine.
If you have a G15 macro which will accomplish more then you could in game with a single key press, then you're vulnerable to suspension/banning.
Essentially, using Delays or the Toggle/Repeat options or sending more then can be accomplished in game with a single key press can be considered Botting.
I'd love to make a cast sequence macro with comma's, and use the G15 to insert delays, so each toon drops a Tremor totem half a second apart from the others, but that could get you in trouble; manually clicking the key 4 times, or pressing the Gkey 4 times in succession is safe.
