Well I have 2 monitors that I got at seperate times that I was trying to use as horizontal span, instead of just 2 seperate parts of the desktop.

Well the problem is I have a Samsung Syncmaster which is square, and a MAG Innovision which is wide screen. The problem is that with horizontal span the Samsung will be perfect, but the Innovision will be very blurry and horrible.

Would it be possible to set different resoutions while keeping it in horizontal span (not Dualview mode, horizontal span). Or would my best bet be to just get a new monitor of the same size?

I have twice had this same issue. Fist with my Escom 15" and a newer Dell 17"... Then more recently with the Dell and a new 19"...

In short I gave up.

No matter how good one monitor is the other looks pants, either due to running at a below par spec to make it like the older/smaller or the smaller is crap because it can't keep up (resolution/refresh) with the newer/bigger.

If you run under Vista, the Vista version of dual-view will allow you to run two different size monitors at the full resolution, similar to horizontal span under XP. I'm running a 20" WS (1600x1050) and a 19" WS (1400x900) with 3 WoW running and it seems about the same as when I was running 2x 19" WS under XP with span.
