So there isn't even a section for Black Morass on the Dual Boxing Wiki. I was thinking about trying it tonight, and I've never run it before even solo-boxing. I have 5x 69 shamans, with ~415 spell damage each and around 6100 health and 7200 mana. (5x shields so around 6100 armor each).
I hear its basically waves of 5 minibosses and then a boss, also hear 5x shamans should be able to own it just because theres casters and its basically a dps race. I figure with having a bit to sleep between each boss should make it pretty easy.
Does anyone have any input on this? Should I try it at 69? I really need the KoT rep and since it doesn't involve moving hardly I'm guessing its just the thing I need to get super fast rep! Let me know!

Nevermind I didn't realize CoT: Opening the Dark Portal was the same as Black Morass...
I see some advice in there - but mostly for pally + 4x shamans, any advice for 5 shamans? When I should drop earth elementals, etc? It looks like I'll need them all for the last boss but the first 2 bosses should be cake to DPS down fast, just purge the second boss a lot?

Good Luck doing it at 69. I think you will run into a dps/mana issue. Basically the portal guys come in 2 flavors. 1 is a caster (drop grounding totems) the other is melee (drop stoneclaw). No matter how fast you kill the portal guys another one spawns soon afterwards. I would think at your gear level you would need to drop some earth elementals for the 2nd boss and then have some for the third boss also. I did this a couple weeks back but I am pretty geared (+1104 sp 8.6k hp 11k armor). I would try something else. I think when I was 69 I went into shadowlabs and killed the 2nd boss for some quest reward spell damage dagger I think.

it wont be easy for you, but sure doabel, you just have to hope for alot of caster spawns, the melee once can be hard for you

I'm at a very similar point in my progression to you, Hachoo. Level 69 5-man shammies.
I was in the Caverns of Time, did Durnhold with no real problems, so I went ahead and started the BM event cause I want that up front 8000 rep boost so I can get the crappy blue PvP gear right at 70. Made it through a couple of waves - barely - very chaotic and the melee guys really hurt. I just let Medvidh buy the farm since it was pretty clearly not going to be sustainable for 18 waves.
I'm going to try to recruit a tankadin to run with 4 of my five, who knows, maybe I'll find someone to run instances with. Got to get my second team with the pally leveling .....

You can wait between portals to mana up. Just because a portal spawns, it doesn't mean you have to go attack the miniboss. The adds are on a timer and won't spawn for a little bit after the portal opens. Just mana up until you see adds spawn and then nuke the miniboss. The key is to kill the miniboss as quick as possible to maximize down time. Letting a few adds through isn't a problem either. They aren't going to make a big enough dent in the shield to matter. Just be sure to get them after you down the miniboss. This strategy works great on heroic as well.

If you only need a little bit of rep why not go grab the 5 cronosphere things and use one at each portal then fight the first boss. The leave and reset. I know completing the quest will give you something like 8k rep. Don't you only need honored for the "seers" starter pvp thing.

Here's a great movie that shows and explains how a guy does BM with his 5 shamans. Enjoy :D

I did BM the other day with my 4 shamans+pally and it wasn't too bad, wiped once but other than that no problems. The timing is very fast paced and gets a bit annoying, you really have to be ok with letting some adds through (kill them after), being good about using beacons when you need to, and spamming drink whenever you possibly can. Since theres no bonus for having a 100% medivh shield, don't sweat it if you end the instance with it at 20% :)
its too bad there aren't any good rep rewards, otherwise I'd run it daily. I just let my pally consecrate and pick up all the adds, I'd focus fire on the main guy and down him fast, then kill the adds, drink for 2-5 seconds, then off to the next portal. Eventually all my guys mana got really low and I'd have to let some adds through while I drank, you just can't let it fall behind too much or it turns into a catastrophe.

I finally finished it last night. My team is 71, with a few northrend quest rewards, but other than that my gear is just decent (other than my main paladin tank, who is fairly well geared) I had zero trouble killing stuff, it is more of a mana conservation issue. My first go at it, I went full on dps on the minibosses, but I was spent by the time the boss came out. And the nature of the event, is that you have to keep starting over from the beginning, which I find annoying, and it's a rather long corpse run (or so it seems)
I only got to the final boss 3 times, first time, I had aggro issues, killed one dps and then another, then the healer, who pulled aggro by healing too much, and it was all over when it was just my tank, and I didn't have enough dps to finish. Second time the last boss came when I was still finishing the last miniboss, and I had zero mana going into the fight, and it was over quick. The last run, was laughably simple. I was fully prepared, full mana, got initial pally aggro from the start, never faltered, never had to do any healing beyond my basic spam button sequence (my main dps spam button on my mages is linked to my priests macro, with mostly blank spaces, the occasional greater heal, a renew, and Prayer of Mending (way OP!!!) Basicaly its just to do something inbetween PoM cooldowns. I think I did a couple AoE heals (which are incredibly mana efficient, one aoe heal is equal in mana, healing, and cast time as 2 flash heals, BUT the AOE heal heals EVERYONE... I never use flash heal.
I was only doing it to get enough CoT rep for the head enchant, paladin tank legs, and the 1h sword. I lost a bunch of times (Medivh died) always due to mana issues, and got so much rep, I'm thinking about farming it til exalted, just because. I know I will have to go back for the Karazhan quest, so maybe I will do it then. I like that you can just farm it and let medivh die, and it soft resets automatically. Easy to farm. Rewards are near useless for me though. I think I got a decent healer trinket, but thats because most of my gear is quest rewards.
