so i'm not new to the concept of running a game in multiple numbers, shattered galaxy is a rather old game...been playing it for about 10 years now(yeah i know wow right) the game has always allowed multiple instances to be run at the same time, given it's low graphics and cpu usage i've been known to run 6+. it's never been uncommon for someone to run the game windowed with 2 screens up. but that takes time and i need to actually look at the other screen. and i want to just run 2 chars at the same time like i'm running 1 as there's massive strategic advantages to being able to do this.

after doing a little research i found octopus and it seemed perfect for what i was looking for, sg has very few commands and keystrokes needed to get to and fight in battles.

i went thru the tutorial for octopus on wiki and did everything as said to setup my multi-client on a single machine.

all my keys are bound

i have it set to broadcast clicks and keys only when pressing shift or space respectively

i start up the server

open 2 games of sg

log in

doesn't work

so what am i missing to get this working

yeah can't really say there's any reason to play anymore other than just a love of the game and being in a regi with the same people for so long..kru obviously doesn't care if it lives or dies anymore. there's never any mods/admin/dev's on...ever... so i'm obviously rather bored playing 1 char or windowing and playing 2 or just logging 3+ on and sitting a poc...using something like octopus wil make the game much more fun for me...and if i get a working method, i'll obviously share with regi and friends.

so everything is working except the cursor isn't broadcasting. there's no real way to get my chars moving without the cursor following so i can click maps or have it follow map movement
