Gear while lvling?

Hello

I was just wondering if i should go get upgrades for my 2 shammys (lvlv 26) or it is just waste to get the extra spell dmg, when im still a lowbie :rolleyes: So far i did rfc, wc and sfk until they both had the same items ;)

What do you think ?

With 2...it might make more of a difference, but leveling 5 shamans the only gear I got was from the quests I did - I just made sure to have a shield on each one and that made instancing fairly easy. I wouldn't worry about gear for regular questing at all as 2 shamans will be able to plow through stuff even with fairly crappy gear. Maybe try to focus on getting some int so you run out of mana less (shamans have huge mana issues until outland gear + water shield).

Okay, thx for the advice. But i have to do SM for the shield + hammer its so oldschool :P

With my 3 shammies I used SM Library staffs and robes (2 slaves) and SM Lib Dagger + SM Shield (main) until level 60, and some quest items.
Before SM Level I crafted some Tailoring Spell Damage cloth with my mage.

Now with the hybrid team I am spending a little with the paladin (some BOE blues), but others only quest items too.
As you have 2, 3, 5 times more power, I think it doesn't worth worriying about upgrading gear all time.

I only wore gear I picked up from quests and bosting. You will find that you lvl so quick that gear becomes obsolete very quickly, I boosted my mages through SM until they all had the blue cloth items and 2H and then boosted ZF for the quests and then just boosted the first boss to death until I had the staff and hands for all 4 mages. By the time I had done this I had hit 50 and the gear from SM was looking OLD.

I found almost any gear before Outland to be nearly useless. When I gift leveled up my druid to 60 still in level 1-10 gear, and my shaman all in level 50+ gear, the druid was doing just as much DPS nearly naked as the shaman fully geared up. There's just not a lot of spell damage on anything before then. The only thing you'll be missing is health, mana and armor. Don't spend any gold on gear or any time on it unless it pleases you that much to do so.

i agree, gearing while leveling is often waste of gold.

if you do level 5 toons, better save your gold for their skills LOL it cost dearly for 5 toons.

Beside what you spent for pre-tbc gears = waste of tons of gold.

Just wait til you go outland, get those gear from Quests! way better. Also if you don't have full team of 5, maybe better to get each toon thru instance wiht pug from time to time.

I just finished in SM lib; robes, shoulders and staff for all my locks/priest, mostly for looks but they were still in starting gear. Now for cath and the hat...

Because of the boosting bug, 2 accounts are linked to my main account and wouldn't get 3xp if I boosted with a 70, so I just cleared all the trash with my team, which was fairly easy after I got the hang of it, but Doan is a nightmare for that team, so I just summoned in my warrior and kicked his butt and looted.

The rest I just get quest loot. Not worth crafting/buying gear, you just outlevel it too fast. If I get green drops that are good, I'll equip them, but mostly just de everything.
