been thinking about this setting

just can't seem to figure out ... if paly is going to be master... how mage can be at safe distance to start shooting ?

won't it be a bit slower than other setup ? since you need to park your mages a bit far away from the mobs paly targetting ? or how does it work ? :huh:

No problems here, and it doesn't take any time to stop your mages. To stop them, just use a formation-key("macro").
I've played with tank + 4 dps, no problem. You don't really need to stop them either really.

just thought it might be a bit confusing at first if my paly will run in and other mages being pulled in as well. I guess I will have to get used to with buttons when playing this set.

yeah, it's a different playstyle then all of one class, just take your time. I have my DPS-buttons 123 and use extra mousebuttons for pala tanking mostly.
I know many people use mouseclicking for palatanking, but I just can't play that way, need my hotkeys:D
atm, I have heals on mouse5(pinky finger) and alt+mouse4(thumb) for renew and greater heal, DPS is still 1,2,3. I also have more stuff binded ofc, but that's basically it.
I have a Logitech G11 that takes care of alot of stuff as well, like dispell/decurse/cleanse/clean poison etc.

I have a Prot. Pala + Resto Druid + Warlock. Altought I always have a druid, the logic is about the same (let's say I was only p + w).
My "DPS Key" since my first char is "C".

So I have:
C = dots, shots, etc rotation with the warlock. In the case of mages you can find a key and put to Fireball/Frostbolt and then another key to instant casts (Blast / Ice Lance).
4 = instant paladin actions (like Judgment)
5 = stun
SHIFT + 5 = fear
etc

Just put related things together.

About the range issue: not at all :D . Casters have the advantage hunters wanted: can cast from any distance, even if you are kissing the target. So just go on with your paladin, grab the mob and start smashing dps Keys with mages.

I am strucklingn with numbers of key bindings.. seems never could get enough buttons to pull all my macro/action keys.

I have a G11, still haven't a clue how to set it up. How do you use your G11 tho? Set macro on each G keys? Been looking for a tutorials/guides how to use this fancy keyboard with WoW.. dead end
