Basically characters won't be getting the RAF 300% bonus if grouped with a character that does not recieve xp. Apparently it has been updated in the FAQ as well.

Thank you Malkorix.
You're welcome Skidder! Take it easy, and best luck to you <3. Lol!
Well, i dont mind. Played 3 teams of 4 players to lvl59 without any boosting, all in 2-2½ day playtime.

They announced that they were pushing out this change over a month ago. Everyone knew it was coming--You should've got your boosting done prior ;)

there's till a way to get triple xp on quest turn in's - just remove the 70 from the party before turning in the quest (and rejoin after), the only thing you'll lose is the slight xp gain from killing mobs on quests, no great loss if you boost via questing.

Does these events ring a bell? :)

is it just me or are the forums down?

Bummer. At least I was able to get 2 groups to 60 before this nerf -- even though boosting was incredibly boring and probably only marginally faster than questing. But yeah, I still plan on doing another team or 2 before the RAF runs out, so I guess I will be able to put that to the test.
In anycase, I wouldn't be too terribly upset by the nerf -- Just get yourself Carbonite Quest (and don't forget to summon your friend accounts with your mains to grab flight points)

Ok did something go in today that nerfed this, because as of last night this was still working and that post is over a month old. Am I missing something here or is this just a case of thread necromancy.

Has anyone actually confirmed this? That linked post is dated 8/13/08

Old post is old... unless it's changed in the past 12 hours, boosting RAF still works.

Tested it just now in SM Cath and RAF is still working with a 70 boosting paladin.

Is it just me, or does it seem like every Tuesday someone posts about boosting being nerfed with RAF. Can't test it here at work so I have to take your word for it. Come on, new rule -- no more posts about this being nerfed unless you confirm it yourself.

When a blue posts it and they update it in their FAQ I take it as truth until proven otherwise. I don't have RAF and I don't boost. I posted it as a heads up for people who are thinking about doing it so they don't buy 4 accounts thinking they can boost and then it turns out they can't.

Well their FAQ was updated on 8/8 with that information, but it's been working ever since. Someday it will go away (maybe)....
I would expect that "buyer beware" anyone new that is setting up RAF accounts would read the FAQ and see that it clearly says :
If the mob is trivial to either character, no experience bonus is earned.
This means that if you have Player A (level 50 veteran character) grouped with Player B (level 30 RaF character) and they kill a mob that is level 32, since the mob is trivial to Player A, no bonus experience is awarded.
and realize that while RAF currently DOES give bonus XP in such a situation, that it is NOT INTENDED and could start working as intended at ANY time.
I think all the post was saying is concerned w/ linked accounts....I have my RaF accounts and a seperate account w/ my pally booster and it still works today 09 23 08.

I just said screw it and cancelled all my boxing accounts today, including 2 RAF accounts, at least until wotlk, and even then I'm not 100% sure I'll be back to 5 boxing, I'm just having too much fun with WAR atm. I will definitely keep my main wow account, but beyond that only time will tell.
Edit: Had a total of 7 WOW accounts, now just 1, at least for the next few months.

Turning in a quest is turning in a quest - regardless of the circumstances that enabled the quest to be completed After the fix is made, I believe that if a 70 is grouped with the lowbies, when the lowbies turn in the quest they will still get triple XP for it. The only time they won't is when the group kills a mob that doesn't give XP to the 70.

My sister used her mage and my freind used her palidan to boost me to 40, after that i did quests it was way more efficient to do it that way. I tried doing brd and other instances at 40, ittook so log to kill teh trash in there it just wasnt worth the effort. however i did have a 70 stay with me to do all the quests from 40-60, gotta remember every 4-5 quests is a level...way faster than beig boosted in an instance after 40 IMO . So dont be too bummed when they finally "fix" what they are trying to do

I am pretty sure you can still do it, with this way.
You invite your 70 to the party (this requires alot of work, tho.)
He leaves party, you tag, he kill, invite him back when the timer on his teleport crap is at 10 sec, rince and repeat.
But .. Oh well, Im 60 in a few days anyway so this wont really affect me :)
