Hi.
I Just setup a Dual-Boxing (1 machine) and am going to play on 1 x 22" screen (1680 x 1050).
I have tried to separate my screen different ways, and whatever dispatch I use, the WoW window is always distorted to match exactly the region I have specified (ratio Lenght/Width is not kept original). Is there a way to setup either WoW or Maximizer (I use Keyclone) so that the WoW window's ratio is kept ? (=> hence, window maximized for the region but with 4/3 or 16/09 ratio and filling with black bands the parts that are "not used")
Example : if you check the sticky thread with "how to setup maximizer" on the first screenshot (4 regions) the above WoW window does not use the entire upper region but has a normal length/width ratio and right and left part of screen are filled with black stripes.
Would appreciate as well any advise as to how setup the 2 regions from experienced people. I have seen Keyclone pointing at standard uploadable configurations and did like the 1280x1024 dual config. Does anyone have the same kind of setup for 1680x1050 ?
Many thanks in advance.

which layout are you thinking about?
sample layouts: http://solidice.com/keyclone/layouts/index.html
how about a portrait mode, horizontal split for your wide screen?
ie: http://solidice.com/keyclone/layouts/kc_1050x1680x1_2regions_vert.jpg
that would probably offer the best real estate for both wows. of course, the portrait mode screen is a bit different if you are not use to it.
it all boils down to how much you really want to interact with the other screen. i would guess most people (like me) just glance at them to make sure they are still where they should be and not falling off a cliff (i looked over once to see two of my guys plummeting to their deaths... and in thousand needles, that takes a while :D )
talk to you soon,
Rob

Hi Rob.
First of all, thanks a lot for such a quick reply. Definitely comforts me in choosing Keyclone.
The layout I liked was the "1280 x 1024 x 1 2 regions PIP" (with second window on top in the lower right corner). Would it be possible to have the same but just with 1680x1050 as this 1280x1024 is meant for a 4/3 monitor ?
As for the Horizontal split, it looks quite attractive but would require me to rotate my monitor 90deg, which unfortunately I cannot. :( In any case, I share what you say is most people's use of second window : from time to time have a quick glance to check everything is OK, but not interact much more directly with second toon.
Have another question (related to my first post) : if you define say a Region0 of size 800 x 800 and a resolution of 800x600, is there a way to set this up that the WoW window will not look distorted and use the whole 800x800 region, but more like a Black band 800x100 + WoW Window 800x600 + another Black band 800x100 ? (can be extrapolated for higher resolutions : on a region 1600x1600 with resolution 800x600 would render 1600x200 black band, 1600x1200 WoW Window and other black band 1600x200)
Twiddledee & Twiddledum both thank you very much :D

Most TFT monitors these days have a replacable stand (so you can mount it on an arm or the wall or something else).
You can usually remove the default one and replace it by a different stand that can rotate the way you like it.

there is no real way to have wow make a black bar on the top & bottom.
but, i can give you a 1680x1050 2 region layout...
http://solidice.com/keyclone/layouts/kc_1680x1050x1_2regions_pip.jpg
i added it to the layout page under '1680x1050x1 2 regions (screenshot) - PiP'
just check out the main page: http://solidice.com/keyclone/layouts/index.html
if the position of the little region isn't in the right spot, just move it in the editor.
i hope that helps,
Rob

Rob,
That looks great. If I can figure out how to portrait mine (doesn't have an adjustable arm so I would have to mount it) then I am going to do that. In the meantime I am going to use your other suggested one to level up my warrior with my priest.

Rob,
I just downloaded the 1680x1050 dual mode layout, and I gotta say, it's awesome. One thing I noticed though is that the main screen is actually full screened and not windowed mode. I had just set them up to be in windowed mode prior to getting this, because I was having trouble with maximizer not working...turns out in the box called "region" you can just indicate a number, but have to spell out "region1" etc.
Is this going to affect toggling between the 2? Thanks for your help.
