Greetings multiboxers!

Might i ask you, when you going to outlands, is there any chance you still can do only slay quest and pick up 1-3 quest items? or do you need to grid alot and do shit loads of instace!

Should be awesome with a answer from some peoples!

Thanks Eyeshot!

I had to do some collection quests and a lot of instance grinding in addition to all the other quests

I got to 70 by gaining xp until my xp bar filled up :P

To answer your question as best I can, I got to 70 without doing a single instance and minimal drop quests.

Skip the very long collection quests... but otherwise do everything else.

I havnt hit 70 yet multiboxing, but Ill explain what I plan to do:

I use Joana's guide, and skip all the 10+ item collection quests... But helping offset that a bit is I can do the "Group" quests that are offered as an option.

Solo using Joana's guide I hit 70 and have yet to touch shadowmoon valley... So 5boxing with skipping quests, I plan to just touch into shadowmoon for 1/2 a level or so. ( which is still in the guide )

We all know that the gathering quests are a bitch, but if you want to get to 70 as fast as possible then doing those as well as kill order quests are the way to go. Doing the gathering ones open up more chains, chains with kill orders in them. To maximize your xp gain per zone you need to do as much as possible, no matter how much of a bite in the ass is may seem.

I ran instances from level 12 all the way to level 70, never touched any quest's that didn't involve the instance I was grinding(skipped a # of those as well actually). I believe I hit 70 in about 9 days played and obviously had a good bit of practice doing difficult content so transitioning to heroics and bg's was relitively smooth ( aside from setting up a leaderless/focusless setup a few weeks later ). I made about the same money I would have expected to make doing quests via tradeskill drops ( enchanting mostly ).

First...RAF makes me /cry every time I see a new group of 5x70's on my server...and they are popping up everywhere lately.

But, I get to play so little lately, I at least have my rest bonus running all the time. :P

With the new expansion coming out, I think I forgot why I started 5-boxing. My main goal was to see instances I'd never seen before.
So, I've promised myself I'd slow back down and "smell the roses" while making the trip to 70 with my group.

Well right now I'm about 68.33 and I have 6 days 12 hours /played. I will probably hit 70 around 7.5 days /played. That time is with a lot of idling, AHing, setting up macros (my first multibox group 5 shamans) etc, so the actual leveling time right now is probably closer to 5 days /played.

I skipped almost all collection quests except the ones that had single items that dropped for all 5 guys at once. Occasionally if I KNEW it opened up a huge chain or the reward was really good I did a small collection quest that required 3-5 items on each guy.

I only did a bit of instancing pre-60 - the quests with RAF will allow you to get to 60 with tons leftover even without doing a single collection quest. Post-60 in outlands I did all the non collection quests and then padded some XP with instance runs...mostly a few ramps runs, probably 10 BF runs to first boss, a couple of SP runs, underbog once, mana tombs twice, and durnholde once so far. I'm in Shadowmoon Valley now, going to finish questing here and then run durnholde/sethekk halls until honored with both factions to hit 70.

I expect I'll be 70 this week as the wife just left town for a week and took the daughter with her so I'll have not much to do in the evenings/this weekend except level :D

I plan on doing all the quests on my team. I know its painful but think of this... you want faction for the pvp blues and heroic keys. If you level up doing all quests in outlands minus SMV and then do the kara key quest you will be keyed for all heroics and have your blue pvp set.

It might take a bit longer to hit 70 but I think the time to 70, keyed and geared in pvp blues is the same.

I did a bit of questing, ignoring the more annoying collection quests. The main xp gain however was from instances. I planned my instance runs around the reputation needed for the starter pvp gear, the sha'tar damage caster head enchant and the totem of the void for each shaman. That means doing some HH and CE dungeons in the early 60s, then covering CoT and LC before swapping to TK for the totems and the head enchant. Worked out quite well for me, with six blue items to equip just after reaching 70. =]
