hi guyz, i know shamans are able to do all the instances out there (more or less) but as for me personally, maybe coz i powerleveld to 60, then i just grinded by questing am having hard time, am really having hard time to run normal instances, tried MT at lvl 68, and at each encounter one of my shamans dies, i know am doing something wrong, probably bad healing macros or something, any help to set a fellow boxer on the right track would be appreciated :)

could be a tactic problem or dps priority issue aka, that you nuke down the mobs in a less then optimal order.a perhaps your usage of totems or bad timing of them?
perhaps a gear or talent config issue.
i could be dead wrong but, its worth checking out and consider atleast

my advice is to go start in ramps and learn as you go. I have run almost all the dungeons as I leveled and have had very few probs with my pally/4shaman combo. I cant imagin how fast it'd to have another dps instead of the pally. Boss fight would prolly be more difficult tho. Anyway, I ran MT at 66 and had very little trouble. Its all about learning kill order and totems needed for each pull. Hang in there youll get it. If I get a chance Ill hop in there and take a vid so you can see some of the pulls.

running sethek halls right now, i had one of my toons dies at each 1-2 pulls, downed first boss and am moving on
am running 5X ele, wondering if i should dedicate 1 resto at this point or not
Have you tried having your main as a tank? Enhancement might help you out by holding threat. Also, is it the same shaman always dying? I have that problem since one of my casters has slightly better gear and throws out more damage, so she gets aggro faster than the rest.

havent thought of enhancement shaman really and am not sure if u guyz do have one for tanking purposes, i try to round robin tanking job with frost shocks if necssary, and the toon which dies is just random
more stoneclaws? no idea how long those last against elites, but every few seconds could win you some more living characters against elites

I am at lvl 66 now and although Ive ran the Azeroth instance content multiple times I decided to do it again with my MB team. This was to get instance practice early as possible. What I have been doing is running instances a little ahead of their level. So I ran Ramparts at 62 - BF at 64 and now Ive just cleared Steam vaults at 65. I have found this the best way to learn. Im also gearing up from those instances to the next one. Theres plenty of time at 70 to run and gear up in the instances before you go all heroic.
I use a pally with my 4 shamans though and she is very hard to kill especially with a resto shaman in the group. She soaks up the damage so my shamans get left alone. If your shamans are dying one sugestion i would make is to make sure you havent put in any leather or cloth on your team or given in and put on a staff or other 2 hander. Shields for me on a 5 shammy set up like yours would be essential. get the best you can.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. I still have pulls that I lose 1 or 2 toons or sometimes wipe. If this is consistently happening maybe pop bloodlust and trinkets on these pulls. Switching targets quickly is a big thing also. I found that if you take too long on switching targets things get out of control easily.
Be sparring with chain lightning. I only use chain lighting if I can kill the first mob instantly. If this is the case I shoot a lightning bolt then cast chain lightning. Both of them seem to land at the same time. Then I switch over to the second target and take them down with lightning bolts. If you have multiple mellee mobs in on you don't use chain lightning as this will pull them off of stoneclaw.
One thing that I wish I learned to do was earthbind kite targets. Search around for Xbox videos. In his heroic SP he shows some pretty nice earthbind kitting.

Hi!
Name on your shamans? im from kazzak too btw :)
Well im pretty sure i have the solution for you..
How high is your shamans defence?
Anyway nuke meeles and WHEN your shamans dies take a look on wich abilities that kills you.
I always prio meele first when i nuke unless there are mobs who aoe fear, stun or silence. I soloed mana tombs at 64 so i find this kinda strange(well it took me 6-7 tries to get down the first boss)
First boss i just nuked wich was very possible for me after 65 with 350 spell damage.(spread them out abit)
Second boss i use 2 earth elementals and make a macro on the shaman wich also got some healing gear in his inventory.. Then i made this macro:
/assist bossname
/cast lesser healing wave
Put it on same spot as light bolt and basicly pushed one button the whole fight. Ofc you could make a own button to save mana!
Last boss i just nuked his adds first and 4 grounding totems took care of his fireballs/frostbolts etc.
Thoose voidwalkers who aoe fear is annoying thought! :(

I easily solo'd mana tombs with 5 shamans at 66 so at 68 it should be a cakewalk...
Couple of suggestions (hopefully they haven't already been said)
First totems are important, you should always drop 4x healing 1x mana, 5x totem of wrath, stagger 5x tremor totems on pulls with guys that fear (the nexus terrors), and then 5x grounding on ANY pull with magic users.
I think at 66 using the above totem lists I lost 1 shaman once. Drop an earth elemental totem (or more than 1) on any boss fights you feel iffy about. In mana tombs I dropped 1 EE totem at the first boss, 1 at the second, and 3 on nexus prince, and they were all easy.
As far as trash pulls I don't know what to tell you, they can be tough but the biggest thing is to make sure you DPS everything down super fast, targetting the most dangerous mobs first (for instance ALWAYS kill the priests first as they will AoE you, followed by the guys that use arcane missile, followed by the melee).
Also the single biggest tip to give is to make absolutely SURE all 5 of your shamans have shields. If any of them are using a 2H weapon or not holding a shield they will die, a lot. You're losing about 15% armor mitigation by not holding a shield PLUS removing the ability to block attacks.
Last, make sure to heal properly. The main healing I do on trash pulls is chain heal, I have all 5 of my shamans using a chain heal macro that attempts to cast chain heal on the next shaman down the list, but if hes dead then that shaman just casts it on herself instead. On pulls of 4-5 mobs I will kill 1-2 and by then I will need to spam 1-2 chain heals, then I can finish taking down the rest of the mobs.
As far as pulling goes, switching targets fast helps a lot, and making sure to pull properly helps a lot too. What I do is pick the mob I'm going to pull (usually a magic user). Start spamming LB, then as soon as it starts casting start spamming my CL key, then as soon as that starts casting spam one more LB, usually by then the mob is either dead or if not then the LB will kill him, so while I'm still in the process of casting LB I click to a new mob (preferably one that was hit by CL) and start spamming the LB key on that one. Usually this way I can kill 2 mobs before they even reach me.
Hopefully all that helps quite a bit...it takes quite a bit of coordination to multibox and (in instances) its definitely harder than singleboxing, so keep practicing.!

Another thing look at your defense rating. That normally sucks after leveling quickly. I go to a lowbie area and aggro low mobs to just beat on my for an hour or so. That should help a lot if your current defense is low.
