Hard to say since only some people have played at rank 40 and that was before some of the recent changes (eg SM nerf).

If you are talking about as of now (T1/T2)... Tanks and Healers are the most powerful.

1) dont derail the topic
2) how about teh 566 teams above the highest ranked team on that list let me guess no shaman huh?

Dont get me shaman is a good class just not the best option for pvp.

That being said back to the topc at hand.

The top 9 us 5v5 teams all have a shaman according to that site. Many top EU teams have one(some even have 2), and they aren't exactly nonexistent among top CN teams. They are good in group pvp but suck in small scale battles which is partly why you rarely see them in 3s and almost never in 2s.

I'm guessing you only look at 2s listings since the 3 you listed as best really aren't. While druids dominate 2s they are laughable at everything else sans flag running.

And you derailed your own thread in the original post.

Edit: Looking around that site a bit more and theres a lot more druids and shamans in 3s than I expected. I was expecting a lot of priest with two of rogue/mage/warlock.

NoobShammy,

You would probably have better luck going to the warhammer forums (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/) and posting your question there. From the looks of things around here, most haven't gotten into Warhammer (or just arent interested in it) yet and therefore won't be able to answer your question correctly.

I play Destruction. I constantly outscore shaman on my DoK in scenarios. My DoK is more WoW shaman like than shaman are in WAR. DoK is a front line short range healer that dual wields and has near unlimited healing potential with it's combo AOE damage spell that converts damage to healing for people on your side. Then again a single stupid shadow warrior can beat me since I have no ranged snares as of yet.

From my limited experience thus far:

The RvR in Warhammer is very much a team effort. Since you can not run through your opponents (yes there is collision in Warhammer so you can pin people against walls, large rocks or other team-mates), melee's will try to box in a specific target to keep them from running and pummel him to crap. Healers (Zealots like me) tend to do the least damage but are the only ones with heals so I try to keep an eye on everyones health and keep the tanks in the mosh-pit alive. I occasionally throw dots on opponents but there is little point. Combat is far more tactical and long-lived then in WoW.

In order to win there needs to be a balance of classes, there is no one class owns them all.

So what do you want to be? Tank? Melee DPS? Ranged DPS or Healer?

It's too early to tell, and each class has their role.

There is no star class that will outshine everyone.

It's a team game, and the balanced team vs balanced team, whoever has the skills win.

You need tanking, healing, dps, cc, positioning, disrupts, and focus fires.

Is there even any CLASS that sucks in PVP in WoW? Maybe some specs, but not an entire class. The developers design the games to be balanced, whether it's WoW or WAR. What's considered the current best class is usually only temporary. There's a constant rebalancing due to new skills and items in MMOs coming into play all the time. If WAR is worth playing at all, you should be able to do well as any class, same as WoW.

Right now Bright Wizards, sorceress, and witch elves are the best DPS pvpers, while rune priests and shaman are the best healers. Best tank is ironbreaker by far, but black orcs and Chosen do well as tanks for destruction side. There are few 1v1's going on in RvR scenarios so it's pretty much all about tanks tanking tanks and healers healing from the back while rogue like melee dpser (witch elves and witch hunters) take down the healers.

There's sort of a Rock Paper Scissors thing going on, but it's not complete since tanks are strong enough and have enough survivability to drop Ranged DPS as well. Tanks are actually serious tanks and even tank mage damage pretty well. Cloth healers heal the most, but die in like 4 seconds to melee dps. Plate healers are like paladins in wow, done right. The rogue-like melee dps guys rip apart clothies, but any decent tank that looks their way will kill them with ease. Almost every class has some form of snare and/or root, so there's not much in the way of escape and running. The game is semi-melee dominant, but the Bright Wizard and sorceress can wreck complete havoc if left alone. Bright Wizards and sorceress also have a pretty cool mechanic in the way they build up dps. They have a meter 0-100 that fills up everytime you cast a dps spell (fills in by the 10's and 20's per cast) and the meter is set to give a bonus of crit% and crit damage as it fills up. 50% full i believe it gives 30% crit and 50% damage or something, while at 100% it gives 50% crit and 100% crit damage, which is a LOT. Now the catch is that there is also another mechanic to the meter that causes spells to backfire and hurt you as it fills up, at 100% full there's a 50% chance the spell backfires and does like 20% of the damage to you. Lots of people kill themselves all the time like this, so you can't really abuse it too much without a healbot at your side. True glass canons tbqh.

Anyways, back to playing.

Ironbreaker does very good damage, constantly top 5 in terms of damage done, just keep your grudge up...

I've found that playing as a tank in PvP is awsome so far. I still have considerable DPS despite using a one hander, and can completely wreck anyone in light armor.

The catch is crowd control. Any range player can easily take me down since they can all root me and shoot with impunity. But if I'm close or they are preoccupied, I can wreck havoc.

My recomendation is to have a healer back you up, and you can literally stride into any massive fight and be the last one standing. I've gotten into nasty battles of 10vs10 or more and just waded through, slamming my axe on any bright caster or rune priest I saw. Melee dps classes don't do signifigant damage, I can absorb most focus fire from spells, and my allies can have thier way while everyone is preoccupied.

Well I messed around with almost all the classes over the weekend and tried otu teh PVP and PVE...To me the most interesting and 'colorful' race is the green skins. Also I think the most fun and most 'rich' class in WAR. They must have had 50 devs while everyone else had 5-10 working on them. That being said I am now a pesky lev 9 Squig Herder. I will also make a Black Ork Tank some time this week. Green Skins got to love 'em!

That being said i am letting my 4.5 year ( Since release) wow accound die. AdIos wow for good.....
