I just started dual boxing this week and had a question on how others cast. I am using Autohotkey and have my 1 key set to (target, follow, assist). I am wondering if on my 2nd account if I should macros every spell to /assist first or just let the spell fire off as is. I know with my warlock set I have my DOTS macroed for sequence, but still wonder for things like fireball and such. Any advice on how you do things would be appreciated.

I use 3 buttons very much when boxing. These buttons are on all of the "secondary" characters hotbars.
- /follow MainCharacter (I put this on the 0 numberpad button because its big) I hit this button a few times after I kill a mob to make sure everyone is following.
- Char2 strafes left, char3 strafes right, char4 backs up, char5 walks forward. This is bound to the + key on the keypad. Right before I get to a mob, I hit this button so that all my characters spread out a little and stop following the main.
- /assist MainCharacter (I put this on the '.' key next to the follow on the keypad) After the characters spread, I hit this a few times so that the mains have the correct target.
With this setup, you never have to "macro" any of your offensive spells because they will already be targetting the main's target.

Ok, just curious. Having the spread out button is neat and even useful sometimes, but people don't actually use it on every mob they encounter do they? Seems like a waste of time unless up against something tough that has an aoe attack. I'm talking PVE here, not PVP.
I have a spread out button but its more a novelty than anything else for the most part.
Its also a lot of fun when you want to stir up the crowd in a major city.

I use the spread button for every "pull" in an instance, so that my healer and DPS stand still and dont get their spells interrupted if my tank has to run around to get someone.
When questing and stuff, I don't spread nearly ever.

If you don't have a mechanism of redirecting spell errors to your main screen such as resists, not ready, no facing, too busy, etc. Spreading out even ust a little bit is handy to visually pickup on such things.
Coding to set a special raid icon on top of a character that is "idle" is also handy for detecting broken characters. Grabbing idle out of Omen is pretty handy.
