Ok I started playing around with Mogulus streaming tonight. I've got it mostly figured out and am using, VHScrCap, Adobe Flash Media Encoder and Mogolus. The one thing I can't figure out is how to force it to only display the wow window. in the VHScrCap Config I select the wow window for capture but it still captures whatever is the foreground window. Although this isn't horrible because I can start recording and flip back to wow and only show another window briefly, I was wondering if there is a way to force VHScrCap to only capture the wow window.
My stream site is http://www.mogulus.com/thulos
I have one av recorded and on loop and am playing around with recording others.
Also, I see ellay records his ventrilo as well as his live wow session. I'd like to figure out how to stream my microphone input as well as the default sound window, so that I can narrate and stuff.

I tried this with Flash Media Encoder and VHScrCap, but the flickering was way too bad for me to be interested in. I'm assuming that's because it's dropping frames on the way to the server. Any way to combat that aside from upgrading internet connection?

Any way to combat that aside from upgrading internet connection?I didn't have this problem running 640x480 stream which was taking about 256kb up. I did have the problem of it causing extra wow lag having Mogulus studio up. For some reason the browser with the studio was eating a lot of cpu while the actual encoding software wasn't doing as bad of a job. If I closed the browser it would keep my stream running and all my wow lag went away. I'm out of town right now but I did bring my boxing setup. Thank god i'm visiting gamers. ROFL. Working on getting my 5 setup up and running with a different second comp (laptop).

I fixed the problem on mine, had to switch to windowed mode was all. Now it works flawlessly, never any flicker. Also, I have the studio running on my browsing laptop, so I don't have to worry about it slowing my main system down. Check it out http://mogulus.com/teamteht

I couldn't help myself setting up Mogulus after I've seen your stream.
Thanks for the helpfull info.
Now to improve the quality and get the adobe thingy going decently,
it connects, it starts streaming, but mogulus acts like there's no stream and just keeps an empty que.
I can get it to work with just the VHScrCap capping it directly into my mogulus browser,
but from what i've understood it's better for quality and fps to use the adobe thingy.

Without a doubt, the Adobe media encoder helps. Helpful hint - make sure you're running version 1.5.0 of VHScrCap. I get far better performance with it, I think because of the MultiCam app included with the most recent version.

I downloaded VHSScrCap 2 days ago and already played with the multicam thing,
so i'm sure that's not a problem ;)
Can't wait to get back home and toy around with it some more.
(In between brd boss attempts naturally :p)

Oh, it works, but I couldn't get it to work as well as the 1.5.0 VHScrCap-only version. With multicam, I was getting frame drops and freezes in the live feed even at 10fps and 200kbps. After switching over to 1.5.0, I'm getting smooth running with no freezes at 20fps. Keep in mind this is at 640x480 rez. I haven't gone higher cause I think people can see the action pretty clearly, and my priority is a smooth picture, not a high-rez one.
Another hint - don't minimize adobe media encoder! I get a VERY noticeable quality/framerate decrease if I minimize it, but it's smooth as glass if I just leave it up and bring the WoW window to the front on top of it. Probably has something to do with changing processor allotment.

Ok, my fault for taking the newest beta driver for VHScrCAP
:p
but it wasn't the trouble I had with the Adobe Flash Media Encoder
Enter the fms url completely in lower case.. now that worked O.o
darn thing, the mogulus guide even has upper and lower cases all mixed up in it,
so I expected no trouble there

Good to know, I'll be sure to mention that in the Wiki guide I'm working on for Mogulus. It's been such a ride learning all the right settings and tweaks to make it smooth, I figured I should spread the info around.

Teht, you happen to be running Vista x64?
I've been playing with Mogulus over the week and for the life of me cannot get it to work reliably.
If I run VH Screen Cap and Mogulus studio I end up getting just a portion of my available window (whatever follows the mouse). Tweaking the settings, I can't seem to get the full window into view.
When I use the same settings and run FME (which likes to crash, btw), I get the full window and when I attempt to start the stream it then lags out. I can see from Mogulus Studio that the FME stream is indeed in full-size (not cropped and following the mouse like VH Screen Cap + Mogulus studio), but it won't actually stream anything useful past the first frame. Just lags itself to death.
Running it on a machine with Vista Ultimate x64, quad core, 4gb RAM. I also tried just VH Screen Cap + Mogulus Studio (no FME) on my XP machine to no avail -- it crashes IE. I heard there might be something wonky going on with Flash 10.
I probably spent about 5 hours beating my head against the wall on this stuff. Anyone else had similar problems?

Well I've got something working with a program called ManyCam, but boy... even with FME the framerates are terribad.

I can get VHScrCap + FME to work on a XP machine, but it borks the fact that I'm using a widescreen monitor and there's no setting in Mogulus Studio for FME streams to use 16:9. >.<
IE crashes when using VHScrCap + IE/Flash10 and Mogulus Studio.

The problem with XFire (though I admit, it has nice quality streaming) is that you can EITHER broadcast, or record. You can't do both. Furthermore, recordings are limited to 10 minutes in length.
Mogulus allows you to record your live broadcasts as well as upload offline self-edited videos. Granted, the quality isn't great without their outrageously priced Pro service, which allows for HD streaming, but being able to record live broadcasts is the feature I'm after.
I was finally able to figure out Mogulus last night and was live for a hour or so. Of course, it required that I use a 32-bit XP system, and worked relatively well sans the fact that widescreen got squeezed into 640/480. You can set the resolution to 16:9 for direct Mogulus Studio streams, but it appears to not let you set any resolution settings for FME streams.
I even plugged my speaker line into my mic line on that computer so you can get all the game sounds plus ventrilo. Then I realized what a crappy mic I have. I'll have to get a new one.

who wants to see a offline clip on a live streaming website, i sure dont. if your gonna make offline clips might as well make a pvp movie and upload it to warcraft movies, personally i would like to see live footage of someone multiboxing in pvp so you can see there strength and weaknesses but thats my prospective.

Unlike some "LifeCasters", I'm not online 24/7. And FYI, I'd love to re-watch Ellay's old live streams (sadly he has to put them back up for offline access). If you don't like re-watching videos, you don't have to. That doesn't mean everyone in the world shares your opinion.
Anwyay, I fixed my problem with aspect ratios...
Append this text to the end of your Mogulus FME url:
/aspectWidth=16/aspectHeight=9
