Alts targetting/pulling something completely different than the main.

Okay, so I've noticed this thing that's wiped me a few times in Uldaman.

One of my alt toons will sometimes target a mob that the main isn't targetting and fires a lightning bolt or whatever at it.
Something way far away from the currently tanked mobs. Not all of the toons do it, just one, and quite randomly.

This shouldn't be possible because all of my macros are like /cast [target=focustarget] whatever.
Maybe there is a lag delay in switching targets or something and it picks the closest one instead? I don't know. Wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Should I be doing '/assist focus' instead?

/agree with Fursphere as it happens to me only every now and then.

I basically write a macro for most all of my command commands that begin with an assist command

/assist focus

/cast Chain Lightning

I mean, I click on random mobs all the time - but I do it on purpose to get more of an AoE effect out of Chain Lighting. But my toons are also geared and I abuse my prot. pally. ;)Amen to that, if I am quick and the lag cooperates I've managed to split my CL's 3 ways...

Yeah the thing is I'm not clicking on random mobs at all while we're fighting, just tab to switch to the next nearest target which is always in my consecrate.

It almost always happens after a target change though.

The last time was in Uldaman when I'm tanking three of the hallway trash mobs away from another group of mobs.

I'll switch to the last guy alive in the first three pull and for no reason one of the alts wants to pull the OTHER guys too. Not a problem, but half way through oh crap we're out of mana. Wipe.

I'll edit the macros to use /assist and see what happens.

I thought about making a nice chain lightning 'round robin' key for that.

I suspect its the lag, but I'm curious, do the "other" mobs that get targeted and pulled "wrongly" have the same name as the mob your main is targeting?

Are you passing TAB to your alts? If your alts are tab targetting as well they could easily pick up an unwwanted mob.

Are you passing TAB to your alts? If your alts are tab targetting as well they could easily pick up an unwwanted mob.Nope, not passing tab. Only Keyclone hotstrings and a few other keys.
