So I have attached a rough cut and paste from some SS I took. He has been spaming in trade channel for 3 hours *still is in fact* The SS's are over a two hour time frame, Ive had him on ignore since.

Funny, I used to get people who would claim that they were reporting me on a daily basis. Still haven't heard one peep from a GM, ever. Doubt that I ever will.

I must be one of those lucky ones - never been reported, never been threatened to be reported, and in fact on my own team I tend to get about 9 "You're freaking awesome, thats so cool, /cheer, etc" for every 1 "loser". And usually the namecallers so far have just said 1 thing and then left me alone after that. Nowadays if I get anyone calling me a name the first time they insult me I just /ignore and never look back.

I want to know why he was still there after you reported him. That was flat out harassment. Telling you that you were going to be banned is also a lie and harassment. GMs will not tell you the actions they take on other accounts, just like your GM said to you. I don't think the GM was very helpful at all. When I last did this at least I got a a good GM http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=13291 ('index.php?page=Thread&threadID=13291')

how does he know you will be banned in 24 hours? that is full of bs, gm cannot talk about the actions that they do to other people.

I am the same as the second poster here... I have had 3 people tell me they reported me, and this is over the span of a year, and havent heard a thing. This guy harrassing you is just a common retard that thinks he knows everything.
A phrase I like to use, "those who think they know everything really annoy those of us who do".

LOL I have a t-shirt that says that..

Don't people know that 12 year olds know everything?

I've had some great GMs, one even showed up for a visit! But that was ages ago, haven't talked to a GM for more than 3 minutes in over a year. This guy must've just had a bad day or was swamped and wanted to take care of you as quickly and harshly as possible. He didn't even wait to answer your second question or talk to you and instead was signing off. I think Blizz kindof takes a wrong stance with the GM's. Officially, they're sposed to be heard, but not seen or even allowed a sense of humor. Kindof sad really. Those are the people we're supposed to turn to for help, and they're meant to seem cold, at a distance, and uncaring full of canned responses. Most people will never see a GM, and I'm positive that's not a good thing for a mmo comunity.

I have no idea how many times I've been reported, but it's been LOADS!
Never ever heard had a GM conversation while multiboxing. :<

Hope he enjoys his ban, he definitely crossed the point of no return.
I think the problem with GMs is their procedure for mouthbreathers like this. I have a feeling they're not told to refute the claims these apes make, but just reply with the same canned "This issue will be looked into and taken care of" that they gave you. That leaves this "Review" guy thinking "Oh boy, I bet I got him in loads of trouble, let me harass him some more about how bad I just screwed him up." True, that just gives you more ammo, but it doesn't help our community, or stop the harassment you deal with. The blue posts in the forums should help, but not the immediate problem. I think if this thing happens, they should be told something along the lines of "We understand your concern, and do take all player opinions under consideration. Please remember however, that harassment is explicitly prohibited under the terms of use, and can result on account action." It's the same as when a person decides to take the law into their own hands.

I wonder what his reaction would be once he gets an email saying his account has been suspended for ~3 days..

That was lol, maybe next time, when they ask if they can help you with anything else, just say "yes" first instead of typing out the 4 liner. This guy imo was actually smarter than a lot of the normal people who report you, he would have actually been in the right if you had been "scripting." At least he knew the difference between multiboxing and scripting, shame he couldn't spot it though.

I get people like that all the time, they make out that i have been reported and a gm said i will be blocked pertinently in >made up time here< and to enjoy my last >made up time here<.
But unlike multi boxing, harassment IS against the rules

At least s/he called you"hun." That's something.Am I the only one that this annoys? I find it overly familiar and frankly a bit creepy/slimy when a complete stranger calls me "hun".
Still, I like to I imagine the look on (presumably) his (presumably) teenage face when I tell him I'm a 43 year old male. :D
I do hope you didn't just report him for harassment, but for also impersonating blizzard personel since he chose the name "Review" specifically for sounding like an authority figure.

the guy kept talking about combat log automatic detection, I wonder if our near simultaneous casts do trigger some real reporting addon out there ? (in which case maybe we should work with said addon author to educate them in distinguishing boxers from robots)

The guy in the screenshots is a top-class tosser. Something you just wipe off your feet and continue along your way. I expect it was a level 1 alt, but if it wasn't then the best reward would have been to just whisper him every day "Hey, look, I'm still playing".
Of course Blizzard can identify multiboxers by various means - they've said so in the past - and the timing of our actions will certainly be one of those means. But it absolutely doesn't matter a single jot. There's no change to behaviour required, no change to addons and no change to any of the legitimate software we use for boxing required.
The point is that we're not trying to hide what we do, because we're not doing anything wrong - the guy in the screenshots is just trying to spread FUD by trying (and failing) to sound semi-official.
I actually think it's either hilarious or very sad - I can't quite decide which - that he would waste so much of his game-time on an endeavour that is ultimately a hiding to nothing, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the GM (who I didn't think handled it badly at all...) had a quiet word with him.

at the beggining i also gave too much attention to this kind of players. but like Otlecs said, these ppl are "Something you just wipe off your feet and continue along your way".
anywhere in the game, if u read something against u, just ignore it and laugh, cause the guy is failling hard.
if i was to pay attention to these comments, i woulsnt play a single AV. since the beggining to the end, it's ppl arguing about it being legal or not. what matters is that i get my hk's :P

I allways add people like that on my friends list to say Hi everytime they log on :)
On the subject of Blizzard being able to detect if someone is multiboxing, in my case a give away would be 5 times the same Realname/address/creditcard/ip

I went for this escort this weekend and some guy started asking me to party him. I told him I had 5 in my group already and took the escort. So he said to me, "You fucking asshole, I just spent all this time clearing the path for this!". All I said was, "Enjoy your ban." I'm pretty sure he got banned for the weekend after I reported it. Anyway, pre-clearing non-elite escorts and then being upset when someone else grabs it is idiotic, especially being upset to the point of hardcore cursing in a whisper.
On the topic of MB hate tells, though, I also get a lot more adoration whispers than anything else. Most people think my tank isn't even part of the team and are shocked when I show them that I'm playing them all. I did the ring of blood the other day and a lot of people saw me tank/dps/heal it solo.

What level were you when you did ring of blood?
I want to try that soon (at 66) but I'm afraid I won't be able to do it with 5 shamans, at least not without blowing earth elemental cooldowns for each step. Some help/advice would be appreciated.
Ideally I'd like to do it with 5 shamans, preferably without EEs or maybe with just 1 of them if possible - is this possible at 66?

Here is a crazy thought, have the text for link to a official wow forum multibox topic with a nice clean blue response. cut and past it into the chat tell them to RTFP then if required then ignore them and walk away.
There is no point getting into a pissing match in chat, give them then facts then walk away. They are just interuping the leveling :).
Crap what am I thinking put the text into a macro.

Ideally I'd like to do it with 5 shamans, preferably without EEs or maybe with just 1 of them if possible - is this possible at 66?The damage of the boss on the final challenge is substantial. My healer for my group is tier 6 with 2300 healing and nearly unlimited mana, so it's kind of unbalancing it for me. I couldn't possibly gauge this for 5 shaman except to say that the final guy will likely one or two-shot your shaman.
Sorry to derail the thread guys!

I think you're going to find that quest VERY tough, unless you've gotten pretty good gear, for your level 66 group. My alliance group (2-locks, 1-priest, 1-shaman, 1-druid tank) at level 67 had to call for some help from a couple of my guild level 70's, and even then, it was tough, with at least one character dead at the end of each round. When it was over, i kept my DPS characters there for over an hour helping by sniping from the side, for both allicance and horde groups, as group after group was getting butchered. That quest seems to be a serious Tank + Healer challange, more than a DPS challenge.
Prior to reaching level 70, the above group could mostly kill solo elites a couple levels above them with no issues, despite having mostly "green" gear. My advice, have at least one EE out for every round, and multiple EE's for the last round.
