WoWThumbs is an app that uses the Vista Desktop Window Manager (DWM) to display thumbnails of your wow clients that update realtime. running 5 clients, WoWThumbs, Visual Studio 2005, Photoshop, my system still ran smoother than it did with 5 clients using Maximizer in keyclone. The switching between clients with Alt-Tab is as near instant as it gets... and I'll be adding a keyboard hook later to setup hotkeys to bring each client forward. In the meantime I tested using the alpha of Keyclone and 5 overlayed regions, the swap happens in about half a second or less... The only thing I don't like about this is I have to click the window to set my focus or my keystrokes still go to the background window...
All this said, I'd personally love to see this functionality in KeyClone, but since it's so specific to Vista I'm not sure it'll ever make it there... which is why I cranked this little app out. There is a bit more polishing to do before I release it, but I wanted to get some feedback before I went too far...
Would anyone want more than 5 clients visible? Right now it supports 1-5...
I'd assume folks would appreciate horizontal and vertical alignments...
Always on top as a toggle...
Configurable hotkeys to set focus and bring to front...
Other features?
