Anyone using trinity 2.0 in the beta. I'm curious if it is broke as the author has been noncommital about updating it for the expansion. He is working on a new macro based addon...

So anyone have insight into this. I made my setup around several of the feautures in this mod, like multiple button bar paging ect. Going to be a huge setback to lose it.

Plus the mod is freaking awesome!

I'm curious as well. I just started using trinity, and - WOW. So much better than the default macro/bar UI. I really hope it'll be updated for Wrath.

I use Trinity Bars and love it. On another thread where i was commenting on the 'infinite' macro spaces available it was confirmed the designer of Trinity is definitely updating it for WOTLK. If this is new info that he isnt it would make me very sad indeed.

I would really hate to be limited again by maximum macro size.
There aren't many macro crossing the line atm.
But the more I adapt the ui to my needs,
the more macro's start going over the limit.

If he updates it he can expect a donation \o/

Wanted to ask about this one, I tried Trinity bars and I like what I see but I have no clue to how to use it, I normally use bartender or bongos so use to that only but I like how you can resize everything and configure it to your liking.

If some one can point me to the right direction or give me a few pointers it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure about Trinity Bars for WoTLK, but BindPad has definitely been updated for the beta. It works great and has unlimited macros/macro length just like Trinity Bars.

Also, for those that don't know, in WoTLK, your regular macros and keybinds are stored on the server.

I believe the author is discontinuing Trinity to work on Macaroon, a 3.0/WOTLK-only bar system.

Looking at his comments on the Trinity page...

http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7810-TrinityBars2.0.html

there should be a smooth upgrade from Trinity to Macaroon (my bold in the quoted comments below)...

At this point, Macaroon is just about as functional as Trinity Bars. Almost every Trinity Bars feature is in Macaroon and the configuration "feel" is almost identical but with a superior, easier GUI.

Come release, I will decide what I will do then. As of right now, the "spirit and soul" of Trinity Bars exists in Macaroon, but with a much better framework. The troublesome functions are gone, and everything works like a well-oiled machine.

Really, at this point, it is just a name. The only major thing Macaroon does not have are buttons that can be set to "spell", "item" or "slot" and it's own skinning engine. However, I have found that those buttons are really redundant when a button can be set to "macro" and perform the same function (buttons that are not based on action ID's). And I am seeing how well Button Facade works out as a skinning engine.

I have already done an experiment where I renamed the files and replaced every instance of "Macaroon" with "Trinity", and everything worked perfectly. So, again really it is just a name difference http://s.wowinterface.com/images/style_mmoi_wowi2/smilies/smile.gif

Either way I go on the name, there will have to be a conversion process from Trinity Bars 2.0 to the new bar addon. Since the data is so similar, making a "converter" addon should not be an issue. Even if there was no Macaroon, I would be working on Trinity Bars 3.0 and there would have to be an upgrade process anyhow, as WoW 3.0 changes how buttons/bars are handled with a much improved framework.

So, Macaroon is for all intents and purposes, is Trinity Bars 3.0. I just have to decide on a name http://s.wowinterface.com/images/style_mmoi_wowi2/smilies/smile.gif

I dread each Tuesday http://s.wowinterface.com/images/style_mmoi_wowi2/smilies/smile.gif I am working as hard as I can to get a viable 3.0 version of a bar addon out. And, yes, I am working on the settings import and hopefully it is done before the patch hits.
