Well, I have been without sound for about 3 months now. I got the day off, so I decided, why not take a look at what be causing the problem. I have a X-Fi pci e x1 sound card. I loved it before my sound issue. I had drowning on certain audio that would go in and out. I played with the 3d sound options on the XFi control panel. Turned off Xpand and just to Stereo surround, everything is now crystal clear... At first I thought this was a heating damage issue, but turns out it was just some wierd configs bugging out. If anyone has the same problem or had it, feel free to ask any questions, because I know how frustrating this was.

I have an X-Fi and I have an issue with my microphone. Anytime I open vent or change channels it mutes the microphone.

I have to go to Control panel / Audio Devices / input / and test microphone. After testing, the microphone works perfectly. Make any changes (to vent) and I have to repeat the entire process all over again.

I've updated the drivers, reinstalled, and tweaked with every setting I could think of (that's how i discovered the work around) and I can't fix the issue.
