I read this post this guy with a white el.guitar on his avatar about sdd drives. i wanted to ask him a question but i cant find the post now -.-
So anyway ill ask it here, is it any point having more than one sdd drive? or is one fast enough?
Im doing 4 shamans atm and had my first real AV a few minutes ago and quickly undertstood that somthing was needed ^^
My cpu,ram and graph card is ok, its just that my shitty harddrive cant deliver enough info.
Edit; My system has SATA, does SATAII work on my system or do i need a new mainboard that have SATAII?

Are you running all 4 instances off the same drive now? Do you have at least 4 separate wow folders to run the instances from?
The SDD disks are quite sexy right now but they are also quite expensive too. I would recommend getting at least 2 and preferably 4 drives(sata) to run the instances off of. If only 2 drives make sure each instance has its own folder. This should help.
I run 3 instances off 2 drives but they all have their own folders. I can run all 3 with graphics set fairly high and get 40-60fps on each instance. My hardware isnt the greatest in the world either.

yeh seems like we have much of the same systems, but i run it on one harddrive. four copies of wow installed. might it altso do the trick to buy 3 other harddrives (regular ones) for each of my wows?

I would recommend that before I bought a SSD. The price for 3 cheap 20-40gig sata drives is far far less than 1 SSD. You dont need a monster 200gig if you're just installing wow on it.

My main drive is a 10k sata II drive and my second drive is a 7200 rpm sata drive. Should I still run my data from that drive, even though it's slower? I run all 5 copies from one installation of WoW atm.

I'm running all 4 of my clones on ONE harddrive, and ONE installation - No problems, just some longer loading screens..
My harddrive is a 320gb Western Digital 7200 RPM / 16MB cache..
