Hello all,
not posted for a few weeks been busy with all sorts.
I have 4 shamans currently lvl 64 all geared up with shields for extra protection.
Im having difficulty when i get jumped by 70 pvp rogue, they stun lock my main and im crippled and he's running around me spamming his usual moves, multilate!
Im elemental spec, any tactics against rogues when they stun lock you? has anyone else experienced problems with rogues causing havoc with the leader toon?
help much appreciated please!!! :D

yup thats the first thing i do, no prevail ;( always gets away with 20-30% hp, most of the time he stays behind my shaman and jumps me when im least exspecting it.
my toons ahs 4700 hp 6200 mana, 6000 armor, the rogue has 8.8k hp, mixed epic gear.
must be something else to avoid my main being targeted i feel as he macrod me? i know im not 70 yet as my toons are 64. i was thinking of rerolling for resto for survival?
There must be a way! sure if i was 70 with best gear and a 70 jumps me then i will survive as loads more armor and resil etc, but as im 64 my life exspect is reduce marginly.

If you suspect he's following you, trail round-robin earthbind totems behind you. :P

Well... this is also where the broke ass PvP system comes into play.
See, you need S2/S3/S4 gear on your Shaman so they basically become uncrittable (resilliance). Wait... isn't that what raid tanks do? Why yes it is!! But Blizzard thinks PvP should be the same as "tanking" in the uncrittable world.
pvp is bit all over the place but not much can be done.
surely then a 5th member being a prot warrior with a insane amount of hp/armor would be a good survival tactic as main char?

You obviously need more keys. More keys = more flexibility in the many things PvP throws at you. Basically, can't you just insta gib a single rogue?

Rogues feel invincible right now. And they kind of are ;(
So, when this guy is harassing you, travel in ghostwolf form.
When the stunlock starts, immediately start healing your main and have them drop poison cleansing totem.
Once the stunlock ends flame shock rank 1 on the rogue, and back the followers up a bit so he can't run behind them to avoid damage.
Just spam LBs at him, force the cloak and try to keep him in combat or force him to use vanish.
As a warning though, when a rogue dies, 4 new rogues spawn, usually undead or BE (<3 that AOE silence blizz)

It's mostly a gear issue. I suspect that in your current gear you won't have time to establish an offense before the rogue has killed your main, due to your low amount of hp and armor and crit defense.

it depends on the skill of the rogue. If the rogue is well skilled then it is over. I play with 4 sham and pally for av. My pally has a stun that i can use every 45 seconds which lasts long enough to get 2 shots in for the kill, but sometimes during that 45 secs you need it. My pally is prot spec so i can take a ton of damage but cannot do any damage (prot pallies just really suck in all bg they cannot do anything).
Anyways, there was this one av where i went up against a really good rogue. That i think ellay would even have a hard time against (but ellay also has all s4 gear so might not be a problem). I had about 2 pieces of s2 gear on (that i one of the reason i went down quick). Rogue got lucky and caught me out of combat (if i was in it, it would have been a little harder to kill me). This is what he did
- Pally didn't touch cause he knew it was a prot build
- sap a sham
- cheap shot another sham
- blinded another sham
- gourge another sham
so i only had the pally to do dps. He then killed the cheap shot sham, went to the gourge, then blinded, then sapped, and ran away not killing the pally. I might of had a chance if i was in combat cause sap wouldn't have worked. He was probably in a mix of s2/s3/s4(gloves) stuff. But he soloed me like no tomorrow.
I find that rogue are usually the only ones that do the dance the most. Warrior pretty much just stand there and pallies too. Sham sometimes dance, but rogues are the king dancers... fast forward youtube to 1:03 think of the rogue like this guy

To the OP:
A lvl 70 PVP geared rogue is > than 4 lvl 64 shaman unless you catch him in the open at max range, occupied with a mob or in another pvp with no cooldowns avail.
I am not even sure why he bothers stunning your main, he can pretty much 2-3 shot each of your guys if he is geared in S2+
Just level up and get the pvp gear yourself and no rogue will be able to touch you, well they can annoy you, but certainly can not kill you any more.
btw, a lvl 70 mage would own your entire group just as fast if he made into your group and started exploding, those can still be a pain at 70 if you are already hurting.

Rogues will get the best of you (regardless of tactics) until you have 9,000+ HP, high armor from a good shield and some PvP gear, and 300 or so resilience. Before those points, you're going to lose a shammy before he's done with all his tricks. With rogues, you basically need to pressure him to use up his tricks while still keeping your guys alive. Force the cloak of shadows by doing some damage with shocks or fire nova totems (or both), then heal up. Wait out his tricks and then hammer him when he's vulnerable again.
As you get closer to those gear milestones, turtling through his DPS will be a little easier. Until then, even with my excellent strategy, you're probably going to lose one or more shammies.

a 70 PvP rogue without cheat death, that gotta be hard to kill.
I agree with most of what has been said, but I think I should summarize my thoughts about it:
- 4700HP at level 64 is not enough. You should have about 6000HP by now.
- Shocks, slowdown totem, fire nova totem, then searing totems. Also cast lightning bolts and if you have nature's swiftness: use it in case of emergency(for fast damage or quick heal, whatever is needed).
- Use 4 or 5 times lesser heal at the same time to the character that is attacked.

Run with a prot pally as your main with 18k+ hp after kings. I love it when rogues stunlock my main, keeps em in front of my shamans = game over. It's not like they have a chance of taking down my pally in a million years, and all it takes is a barrage of lesser healing waves to top her off again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdg6rDPkdko&feature=relatedI'm just curious, why not trinket? I mean, he's blown pretty much all his CC options, it seems like you could trinket, HoJ him, and go to town. Trinket down?
Well played rogues, especially if they vastly outgear, are a pita for sure.

At 65, I pretty much 1-/2-shot rogues with <9k hps and no cheat death. They may get one or two of my guys if I'm fighting other stuff at the time but that's about it.

Hmm...my 65 shammies only have about 5400hps at 65 in all quest reward gear. I might see 6k+ with enchants, a few stam gems on a piece or two and a bunch of blues from instance grinding but this is pretty normal for pure questers, in my experience. Unless, of course, you've selected all melee chainmail with the stamina-heavy stats instead of the elemental gear?
