My 5 shamans are about lvl 54 now and I am wondering what is the earliest I should head into Outlands? The quests start at lvl 58 I believe? I wouldint mind running around grinding critters in the hopes of getting some BOE gear I can use, I am still using gear from my teens, but if the min lvl required is lvl 58, then I guess it's kind of pointless heading there early? Killing things 3 or 4 lvls over my head isin't a problem playing 5 chars at once.

with a 5box team I would stay as long as possible in the old world, you will really need ALL quests in the outlands ... don't waste them on 58 to 60.
and just grinding mobs there is not as efficient as grinding mobs in the old world, because the outland mobs are tougher than the old world's ones.

with RAF on your side you should have enough good quests left in azeroth to make it easy and fast to 60 or even 61 ..

on the other hand, if you have at least a 70 or two to push your pets through ramparts, you can go at 55 an give it a try.
then roundrobin your alts ... it's nice for the eq, you start at 60 with good blues and with luck also decent greens ..

but as I mentioned ... better stay in azeroth until you have no other choice ;)

If you are using RAF, it doesnt really matter. the first few quests will ding you to 60 and you will be right on track with the leveling curve.

That said, the longer you can hold out in azeroth, the better. Just finish up feralas, winterspring, and the plaguelands, and head to outland at 60+

I leveled 2 teams, one went through the portal the moment I dinged 58, the other at 60 and it didnt make much of a difference to be honest. Non RAF, if you go to outland early, you have to either do some gathering quests, or run ramps to make up a bit of exp. If you dont have the ability to do ramps (less than 5 chars, no 70, etc) u might have to grind regular mobs, or end up hitting zangarmarsh a bit early.
