Beta Download Tip: WoW Torrent Extractor

Download that.
REname the beta downloader to WoW-Anythinghereworks-downloader.exe
Place them both in the same folder and run the torrent extractor.

Now you can use your favorite torrent app (I use Vuze ('http://www.vuze.com/app') ) and download this without tanking your network. I went from a > 9 hour download down to a 1.5 hour download AND I'm still able to surf the web since the blizzard torrent client saturates your upstream and Vuze doesn't.

This also works on patches after you install... :) Enjoy!

Been using this for a while. Works great.

Blizzard downloader: 50 kb/s on a good day. Extract the torrent, put it in uTorrent, 800+ kb/s.

Got the background downloader data in about 30 mins last night. The background-downloader even comes with it's own .torrent already, even easier :)

The thing is I'd even be OK with 50kb/s downloads *IF* I could still use the internet while they ran... blizzards saturates your upstream so damn bad you can't even surf pron!
