Seems I always get stuck trying to find the right type of music, that I find interesting as well as the general audience.
Anyone have suggestions on where they usually find their music.

Well if I know the name of the song or band, I do the google search
[code:1]
intitle:"Index.of" (mp3) title.goes.here
ex. intitle:"Index.of" (mp3) dawn.of.victory
[/code:1]
it works most of the time.
If I can't find it like that though, I may buy it with iTunes, there are some websites that let you download it for free like http://e-mp3s.eu/, and there are the other free sites
As for what type of music to use, I usually just go on iTunes and browse around the previews to see if anything sounds good. If I heard something that sounds like it might be good, I'll do the google search above to try and find it so I can see if it'll be any good.
Black sabath - paranoid => hit ;)

I need the music before I can release it. I've got about 2 songs. Not sure how long I want the video to be. Basically just pure Arena's. I have about 20 teams I've slaughtered with no problems, trying to maybe pick the most interesting or the ones that were ranked the highest.

Finding the right music is hard. I can edit a video 2 times over before I can figure out what song to use. I normally research it. As music that has "feel" or that I enjoy isnt going to go over well being 80's lol.
I start by typing in "PVP music" or something like that. Look at all the diffrent songs people suggestion and listen to them. I found a couple bands that work quite well in any video. I also enjoy listening to EVE radio on-line which normally has something new that I never heard before.

If you are in the states (or even if you aren't and cheat a little) try out pandora.com. Amazing music site. Just plug in the music you like and it will create your own radio station for you, playing stuff similar to the songs/artists you've said you liked. So plug in the tunes you've used for previous videos, and see what it comes up with.

Personally, and again, this is personally, I don't care for the vids that have techno as the music. If a vid has techno, I usually turn it off right there, and find something else to watch. If a vid starts good enough, Like the THX Intro with a character-introduction thing in your video, Ill mute it and listen to good music whilst it plays.
Now, if you want music to go along with completely destroying a team or such, I would suggest something like Disturbed, Mudvayne, Slipknot...or some of the less-heard music by bands like Alesana, ScapeGoat, AABACAB, and the like.
If you insist on hyper-active music to go allong with your vids, then try songs by System Of A Down. They have some very fast-paced/hyper sounding songs.
80's............. Def Leppard slang and pyromania seem to work well
livin' on a prayer (bon jovi) is a little easier to listen to I guess for that matter Warrant has some good stuff.. more or less use what you want to listen too since youll never make everyone happy /em hums Cherry Pie as he heads out
on another note.... there is a song that Ive been thinking would be kinda fun to make a video to in wow, but never seem to get around to it (since Christmas is coming around figured I'd toss it out see if anyone is interested in doing something with it since I have no time)
think the name is "I did it all for you" is a duet by racsal flatts and SheDaisy

I've heard just as many complaints about using metal etc in videos, it's one of those subjects where you just can't win tbh. In the end just use what you like ;)

I expect it always depends on what you consider good music...
So many video makers seem to think to be good a video has to have some form of metal, and IMO many would be better with something else. And not just techno.
Personally I like trance, the harder the better :) but I have seen several a good movies that used different pieces of classical music (including ride of the Valkyries).
What most movie makers seem to do is say 'I like ...' then add that type/band/genre to the movie rather than saying 'in this movie I do lots of jumping' then adding Jump Around, which would match...

Paul Oakenfold - PPK Resurrection
Should read:
PPK - Resurrection
PPK being a 'band' in their own right. And yes they are damn good I agree. :)

I'll re-iterate what I said b4 on this post tbh, cos I dont think many people took my advice. Honestly, try out www.pandora.com. It is thoroughly imba.
I always have it on when I'm multiboxing (although it does suck up a bit of bandwidth). But once you've customised it for a couple of days, you'll never need to buy music again :O
