Howdy, I just took the plunge and picked up 4 additional WoW accounts and did some initial multibox testing with trial accounts to see how well it would work and what would be possible. Planning on controlling 5 character on one computer using keyclone (really impressed with keyclone so far). Anyway the plan is to play 4 the new accounts with 2 being linked to the other 2 for RAF 3x EXP to level 60, then leveling up another character from 1-30 on one of the accounts and gift level him from 30 to 60...then continue after that with 5 60's as the RAF exp bonus seems to stop at 60..

So, I have my 4 new wow game boxes...do I activate 2 of them and then immeidatly send 2 friend invites to myself to link the other 2 accounts to these?

Also reguarding team composition, I'm pretty set on doing 3 shaman and 2 mages but would like to get input from you folks about my decision. My goals with these characters are BGs (for the efficient gearup and hilarity/entertainment factor) and also 5v5 arena, my main is 3x gladiator and I definitely see some of the challenges here but I think it will be alot of fun, though I will probably end up doing 5v5 with 4 of the characters (2 sham, 2 mage) and have a friend join with his character to play the healer. Also having a renewed interest in some 5man PVE as well ofcourse, I can already see the fun and unique challenges of trying to conquer some dungeons/encounters with 5 boxing. So back to the question, I am thinking 2 mages as the polys are pretty key and managing 2 of them (I was thinking of just setting focus targets and polying focus) wouldn't be too hard. Also novas/frostbolts for rooting will be nice, especially when using a mage as the lead character as well

Anyway was just wondering if anyone else had similiar interests/goals and what you thought of my class selection or what you would do differently?

Thanks

I spent a good bit of time looking on this forum but couldn't find any clear answer on RAF linking multiple accounts

Anyway for anyone that finds this information useful I went to the official wow customer service forums where I recieved a blue reply confirming an ideal setup for me:

1 parent linked to 4 children, just need to send out the RAF invite email to yourself 4 times..activate accounts with those invites and then upgrade them with the retail cd-keys

If your main account is X and your new accounts are A B C D:

Common variants off the top of my rank newbie head:

X refers all 4 and they all link back:
Offers many granted levels to toons on your main account and 4 zhevras, but you can't use your 70 main to boost and get the best xp. Also requires a toon from your main account to be in the group or no one gets linked XP

X>A>B
X>C>D
Offers granted levels to A and C and double that number to X, also can't use your 70 main to boost and get best xp. A and C get a mount, X gets 2.

X unlinked
A>B>C>D
Granted levels to A B and C. Main account gets no granted levels, xp bonus or mount, but can boost. A B and C get mounts. This can also be combined with having someone else invite A in the first place, so they can get granted levels, mount, and a bonus when with you, but your 70 can boost your other 4 effectively too. I am doing this.

Good point about the main boosting, never really thought about that. I have a hunter, warlock, and rogue main at 70...I bet i could tow 4 characters though instances pretty quick with the lock but on the flipside i loose the 120 gifted levels I was hoping to keep consolidated. Something to think about for sure, thanks

As I noted above I'm doing the A>B>C>D link. My buddy will be eligible to get levels from my A account. The B, C, D accounts will gift to A B C. I have a 70 druid, 60 pally, and 64 mage on my main account, so I have plenty of options for boosting and leveling 60-70. Once the first group hits 60 I am likely to run a second group to 30 or 40 and insta gift 3 of the 4 to 60. My goal at the end of the 90 days is to have L60 toons of every class I'm interested in, and multiple teams so I can build whatever synergy teams I want. I may do paid char transfers onto or off of my main account as part of this, as I have some toons I'd like to get RAF gifting but don't want to wipe out their professions by re-rolling.

Is it possible to do:

X>A>B>C>D

Instead of:

X unlinked
A>B>C>D

?

Then assuming A is both child to X while also being the parent to B, if you had a level 70 main on account X grouped with ABCD all of which are level 30 or something...would ABCD still all get tripple EXP as A being a parent to B?

If you link in a 70, it will impact your xp. A 70 boosting a group but not linked to those lowbies, the kills will be lesser xp tripled, but quest xp will be tripled properly. You can do some cute stuff with having a 70 in group to do the quest and dropping out before turning it in I think.

Do I always gain triple experience while I am linked to my recruit?
No, only when you are partied with a character on the linked account and both players are present when slaying the monster or completing the quest. Also, if the two characters are not the same level (4 or more levels difference), no bonus experience is granted to either character.

Is quest experience tripled too?
Yes, but only if the quest or monster was not trivial (gray difficulty) for either character.

Do normal experience rules apply? How does this affect Rest State experience?
Yes, if a monster or quest is trivial to either player, no experience boost is given. If the quest or monster is trivial to either player then normal experience rules apply, including the use of Rest State experience.

And this thread has large amounts of information and discussion:

afaik, if u have a linked 70 , the linked recruit wont be able to get triple exp, so if u plan to lvl with boosting, this is not advisable, since ur recruit wont benefit of X3 exp
as for linking setup, the post up explained it clearly, personally i went with A>B>C>D set up, i now have 14 toons, 5 lvl 62, others at 60 :D
