Ok bumped into this multiboxing idea a couple weeks ago and have been experimenting since :) My pc runs 5 clients fine, macros are coming along and i have 5 accounts setup (waiting for RAF to kick in before i start leveling seriously).

Ive been messing about 5 boxing shammys boxing 1 pala 2 shammys all draenei (2 accounts with no BC hence no 5 box ) and that works fine my question is, is it worth the hassle of adding a mage in instead of the 4th shaman? I know its kind of a subjective thing ( do i feel the teleports/unlimited free water/Sheep will out weigh the added complexity or macroing another class) So im kinda asking how hard would it be to macro in the mage? is there alot of synergy between commonly used spells and cooldowns between the 3 classes? (pala/shammy/mage) Is it entirely a suck it and see situation? Anyone tried it?

Ive played solo shaman and prot pallys all the way through Kara heroics and beyond but ive never played a clothie so i have no idea what to expect :)

sorry if this has been answered before but i cant see any threads on the particular issue and if there are then i humbly apologise for inconveniencing you guys/gals :)

Thanx in advance for any assistance

I am by no means the best person to answer this nor do i play a 1Pal 1 Mag 3 Sham combo. I have run 4 Sham 1 Pal combo and it seem to work perfectly fine for me. It has everything i need. On the other hand the Ports, free water, and a CC isnt a bad option also. Just remember, you have a pally that is the AoE tank, and can hold AoE agro. So CL works great for downing multiple mobs at a time. I think the Mage would work fine. imho making 1 macro for your mage to sheep a target isnt that hard. Frost bolt is a 2.5sec cast and is only .5sec off a sham LB.

I say go for it. They are all still ranged caster classes. Just dont let that mage get beet on. Clothie's die quik! :D

my combo is also pal+4xshaman, now I am going to replace pal with mage. 5Xshaman can run most of instances, I think 4xshaman+1mag can do it too. for ice talent mage it's more easy for trash. As for boss, I think it's also feasible. anyway, it's just a suggestion:)

I replaced my 4th Sham with a druid for the moonkin buff. Wrath fires of much faster than Lightning bolt but I have been able to keep up the dps none the less.

It comes down to how much you want to PvE or PvP. I have a 3 sham, 1 pal, 1 mage group. I levelled it that way questing and instancing and the ports were cool. I hardly ever needed water or a sheep though.

Now I am 70, I am PvPing mainly just because it's the least time intensive way to gear up pre WotLk. I have actually dropped the pally for one of my previous 70s who is a hunter. Works better having 5 dps in PvP and the hunter has a few handy tricks, although a SL warlock would be better IMO ;)

With regard to the mage, If I had my time again I would go shammie instead now I'm 70. Mage disintegrates in PvP and I am generally pressing buttons too fast to use any of the mages special skills. The great thing about shammies when boxing is that they have so many great passive abilities. 10k armour vs 3s. Totems, heals. For the PvP bonuses, there is not really much of a disadvantage in PvE to justify going mage IMO.
