Hi,

I'm wanting to dual box 2 characters. I have an Intel Mac Mini, an older PC, and a single monitor. The mini is a dual core but has crappy integrated graphics, the PC has a nice Nvidia graphics card, but a 1500mhtz AMD proc (kinda old). Both computers have 2g ram. I share a single monitor between the two computers for everyday use as it has a button that will switch between them. Currently I use 2 keyboards and 2 mice which is a pain, though it works. Both computers run a single copy of WoW ok, but neither will run 2 copies.

So my question is, can I run WoW on both of them to dual box with only one monitor? If so where can I find information out on how to best do this and where can I find info on how to set up a cross platform arrangement like this? So far, I've been unable to find much on this sort of thing yet.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Very much doubt it.
Both would be sending signals to the monitor, and you cant send a signal for just half the screen.

Hmmm...Unless I'm not understanding something correctly, I don't see how that will matter. The setup itself is like a kvm for the monitor only. The computer that doesn't have the monitor will send signal, but the monitor won't display anything. It's as if the monitor is off for that computer. The computer will continue to run fine, I just won't be able to see anything accept through the other computer.

The computers will both run fine, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to try to play that way. If need be, I can always switch over to the other one with the button on my monitor, kind of like alt-tabbing

How necessary is it to have both boxes currently in view?

I would say that it's entirely possible, but I don't think it will be much fun. In any kind of pressure situation, you're going to be hosed. With no real way to directly control the slave toon, you're left with putting them to follow the main and hoping for the best because I don't think there is any kind of cross-platform programs out there like KeyClone or clonekeys.

I think it is synergy that lets yo broadcast to multiple computers, mac and PC. If you are running windows on the mini keyclone will work. not sure about octopus or hotkey auto hotkey but they might work with synergy.

Not optimal but very doable.
