Hello All
Im (yet another) new guy to the Boxing world. Just rolled 3 druids on sporregar. All set up and ready to go. Cant wait to get leveling this evening!
I was however just wondering what kind of feedback/reactions people get you servers. So far the people i play with have had mixed opinions about it. Ive had everything from "its point less" to "its cheating" so far.
Is this the norm? should i get ready for a life of solitude. Or is there light at the end of the tunnel
Tbh i'll play either way. Just want to know what to expect
thanks

Sporeggar EU or US? D:
If it's EU, I can tell you exactly how the server feels about multiboxing!
On my server, Sporeggar(EU), I'm being tolerated by most of the communuti as a nice person and friendly player. It's a few individuals that are hating, but overall I'm just being cheered at. ^^

Your mixed experience so far is pretty much the norm. The low levels inparticular are a total cesspit, at least on my server. It did get better as I levelled though, and even though I like to keep an ultra low profile I did acquire a couple of fans along the way :)
Try to keep the comments in perspective though.
I found myself feeling very negative about boxing when I first started out, then I realised that out of the hundreds of people I'd passed / interacted with during the day most had said absolutely nothing, three or four had said positive / neutral things to me, and only one had let rip with hate.
The mistake I made was letting that one hater get to me, irrational as it was. It's an easy trap to fall into.
As an aside, if anybody really wants some attention, stand in the middle of Shattrath and grant free levels to a character. Man did I get some whispers last night as I took my tree druid from 47 to 60 ;)

Yup, well, I quad-box 4 elemental shamans and I also play a solo enhancement shaman. So, i do have five shamans, also on 5 seperate accounts, but I don't actually multibox 5. Just 4. :p

It really just depends on the server you're on.
I have been playing on Burning Legion US for years now, and when I finally decided to multibox I wanted to keep playing on the same server - luckily enough, 99% of people on my side (horde) have been extremely supportive. Most of the time people /cheer when I walk by, thank me when I heal them, tell me what I'm doing is "awesome", etc. Theres a few sore people but I mostly just ignore them (or if they attempt to waste my time in some way then I severely punish them - see my thread about "Owned" by a rude single boxer, LOL).

It's been pretty much the same reaction for me. I also think being nice to people you meet along the way helps a lot. Giving people heals when they are fighting a mob, helping them kill stuff, etc... as I pass along builds goodwill.
Boxing is lame.

I think the most common hate tell I get is "get a life".
This confuses me a bit because they're playing the same game I am, so aren't they paddling the same boat? I was in AV the other day and there's a conversation in BG chat about me. And one guy says that I have no life and I live in mother's basement. Then another guy says, "no, if he has full S2 on all toons then he would have no life". I guess they think that only one person in the group gets honor at a time.
I generally ignore almost all tells I get unless I know the person or their guild. The moment I get a hate tell, I just /ignore.

The worst I've seen so far is, "thash lame" (yes, he misspelled "that's"). I'm not sure if it was the names of my trolls or if he figured out I was boxing.

Well, my worst whisper was someone saying "Omfg! I hope you die and go to hell x4.".
I chuckled a bit at it and ignored it. :P Still, Sporeggar EU is a great server overall tho. The battlegroup is shitty though.

On Frostmourne it's rather tame most of the time.
I get endless "lol" "haha" say's, a few "lol nice man!" whispers, a heap of "how do you ...".
Theres still a few of the ones who don't like multiboxing, best one has to have been last night's "bullshit multiboxer" "Why so serious?" "I hate multiboxers being so op in pvp owning everything" "It's nothing personal" "K, just another way of playing the game" "Blizz should ban it but they don't because they get more money".
Nothing personal, you're just a fucktard :)
Got into outlands and said in General "Woot outlands!". Instantly got GTFO, die in a fire, etc. Few people said grats :P
Had two people whisper if I was still boxing, cause 3 of them were offline waiting for the accounts to get upgraded to BC. Another 2 were amazed at how fast I had levelled >_>
You will get a few "fans", a lot more haters tho IMO. A a hell of a lot of indifferent people. If you make shamans, the star chain heal pattern is always a winner in a main city ;)

I get a lot of profanity, usually "That's *!*&%ing awesome!"
I get loved on in the BGs, "yay! multibox shaman for the win".
I have gotten very little hate since I built a reputation for being funny, good in the BGs, and just an all-around good guy who will help people out.
Every once in a while, I'll get some hate from someone, but probably not any more frequently than when I single-boxed it.
My advice to any and all multiboxers is to not waste your time worrying about other peoples' opinions. They hold them for whatever various reasons people hold opinions. Recognize that you are more memorable and recognizable and work that to your advantage. I used to spend time educating people in a Vyndree-like manner, but I don't waste my time like that anymore-- it didn't seem to matter. I let other people who know me come to my defense, and let my ability to play my team speak for itself.
The other day in General chat, I saw that the other shaman multiboxer on the server (who just started with RAF) was being bagged on for being a multiboxer. I didn't bother coming to his defense, but this small debate about multiboxing came up. Two memorable quotes from people were:
"It has nothing to do with multiboxing... soandso is awful because he doesn't know how to play his character, and the problem is magnified because he has 5 of them."
and
"True, he's no Boylston, that's for sure."
I just kept quiet. Peoples' reactions are going to be formed by their own goofy ideas plus your reputation and actions. You can't control the former, so focus on the latter. Play well, try your hardest, be nice to your own faction, and dominate in PvP as best you can.

Firstly, are you Alliance or Horde?
On Alliance, I've had mostly positive responses, people seem to think it's cool.
I've had a couple of negatives, one was a few weeks ago, some guy said "Oh God, not another Multiboxer." But when I asked him what was wrong with it, he couldn't seem to come up with a solid reply, I think he thought that I'd be offended or something, when infact, I don't care what others think.
About 15 minutes ago, I had some Warlock in tier 5/6 (I think) target each of my Shaman and /pity them before riding off ;(
My advice to any and all multiboxers is to not waste your time worrying about other peoples' opinions. They hold them for whatever various reasons people hold opinions. Recognize that you are more memorable and recognizable and work that to your advantage.
Brilliant advice, when I first started I was worried about what people would say, I'm never one to show off or brag, and I thought that's what people would think I was doing, so I kept away. Roll on a month or so, and it's totally different, as long as you are nice to everyone, you'll be fine, nobody likes an asshole.

Half way through 62 at the moment, though my focus has been split between my Shaman team and my mixed team.

Hey,
I'm at alliance side, Eonar EU.
I must say, 70% of the ppl that talk to me are negative to "very" negative.
I have no gear yet and still strugling for the best gameplay. (trying to get my x keys to work)
In AV's I contribute alot. Can hold belinda safe for a longgggg time. recap and def towers easly.
But now I'm grinding EOT for mace and shield, perhaps ring to, and they are verry agressif there.
Its true I'm 1/3 of the group and horde just sees me as a trophy, once they no I'm there they hunt me on full trottle.
with no res or good HP/spelldamage and don't realy have a foot to stand on. 3, 4 kills and then I'm dead.
Off course in stead of supporting me, alliance just stands there and blame the loss on me.
Kinda lame but....
In a few weeks when I got some PVPgear to hold me up a bit longer and I realy can contribute in a win, probebly the sameguys who spit onme now will cheer me then...
Thats the kinda life you have on my server/BG

I multibox 5 shamans atm on Khadgar (EU) I have had a lot of people who seem to think what Im doing is side splittingly hilarious as they always say lol/rofl etc. Even had a lot of WTF!!!! As people have no idea whats going on. Had some--hacker, cheater accusations and people putting themselves on follow. Also had some --'thats awesome'. I dont PvP at all so Im just generally going about levelling (Level 55 atm ). Ive levelled 4 70s single box and know for some classes how tough some quests are so help out on the way. The worst I had was an Alliance--Night Elf no big surprise who took the time to /spit on all my guys. I just popped every totem i had then hit my dance macro--I could feel the envy burning off him.
I made my 5 group to solo instance and heres where it pays off. the amount of crap, negative feeling, arguements, insults down right lame behaviour Ive ever had in WoW can for about 90% of the time be attributed to instance running with Pugs. If I had X10 the amount of hate as i actually get then I would still be ahead of the game if I single boxed Instance pugs.

Im playing 5 orcs on Kazzak and here boxing dont seem new! However you should have grinded your marks at 70 i havent lost a singel ab or eots..
Now i got about 40 eots marks for the MH and shield, 50 ab marsk for the shoulders and chest + 30 wsg marks for the pants. This means i have to farm av for a long while but i will have ALOT better gear when i enter wsg/eots/ab the next time! I just have a feeling that things will get ALOT better when we get resillience!
What is your toons names?
