My new computer got here and I'm installing WoW as we speak. Here's what I want:

Two wow directories, one for main and one for alts, symlinked.

I have a SSD and I want to symlink the /data file for WoW onto it, also.

Anyone care to do me a solid and walk me through it? I've read through all the symlink posts and I haven't found anything that was at my expertise level when it comes to programs and scripts etc. Thanks in advance!

Here's a link to an application that provides you with an easy to use GUI for creating the symbolic links:

http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html

The page explains how to use the tool and you'll find the installation files are at the bottom of the page.

1. Install the hardlinkshellext executable that matches your OS
2. Copy your data directory to the SSD
3. Right click on the data directory and select "pick as link source"
4. Right click in the wow directory and select "drop as link -> symbolic link" or "drop as link -> junction" if your OS doesn't support symbolic links
