What have people found to be the best ways to make money in WoW for multiboxers?
Do you grind, instance, quest, play the AH, pick flowers, mine nodes? The answer is probably all of that. But where do you grind, instance, quest, farm nodes and find the best things for the AH?
Do you do all the dailies you can at 70? I just got to 70 with a 3-box team this past weekend and just getting into the daily stuff starting with the Skyguard (or whatever the heck its called). Do you try to get those in everyday or is it a waste of time.
Am I asking for people to give up their secrets, LOL?
I sometimes go to Scholo and repeat the first room to get the Life Stealing Enchant recipe from the Spectral Researchers. Always leave with a few of them after an hour or three. They sell for 100-120G on my server usually within 1-2 listings.
I'm looking for the low hanging fruit that I can get to easily with 3. I'll be 5 eventually but the mages on the 4th and 5th accounts are still in their 30's.
And NO, I'm NOT going to BUY GOLD!!!!

I find grinding netherweave and quests do more than adequately for my needs. What is more I get plenty of netherweave while grinding rep. :)
I do tend to stock pile 30-40 stacks then sell all at once. I also solo/duo through lower level instances for BoE drops and recipes, making approx 50g off each instance, I loot everything, sell everything. 2.3 will hopefully boost that output too :).
Sadly I have no decent professions, though with luck my miners can start making some cash off ore at some point. Engineering is sadly lacking in money making stuff...

I needed some funds for my alts, so I've been grinding dailies with my Priest. I just do Skettis and Netherwing (already exalted). I usually bring in 150-250g/day after all is said and done (selling/disenchanting greens, selling motes/primals found, selling junk items, etc.)
It took me 3 days tops to have enough money for my epic land mounts on 2 characters

Do all your normal quests first. I think if you hit 70 in Blade's Edge, doing all the Netherstorm+Shadowmoon quests nets you ~3k per character.
The three Ogri'la dailies (not the simon-says one) are groupable, so just doing it "once" nets you 12g per character. 2-boxing I can do all 3 in about 30m, with 5 that would be 5*12*3 = 180g in half an hour or less. The Netherwing ones are great as well, doing 7 of those would net you 5*(6*12 + 18) = another 450g. Those take me ~2-3h 2-boxing. That's also not counting all the drops you get along the way.
Farming older instances is profitable too, Large Brilliant Shards sell for ~15g on my server right now, and I'd imagine you could get at least a couple dozen in an hour doing strathome/scholomance.
The most restrictive factor in multi-box farming is respawns. You can kill things so fast that you spend most of your time finding stuff to kill. Instances make it easy to have a non-stop stream of npcs you don't have to fight other players for :).
Farming nodes and AH is decent, but doesn't take advantage of multi-boxing at all.

Grinding instances and selling all shards works okay for me. Plus I usually get decent cash for the aldor and scryter stuff that drops there too. I never go farming for mining nodes, herbs or primal whatevers i need. Always have an eye on the AH and buy cheap.
Remember that playing 5 accounts your goal must be to get money five times as fast as with one account. That will never work but gimping yourself by e.g. mining with one char have all other chars on follow needs no multiboxing.

Yeah, I would agree that you'd want to do something that puts 5-boxing to an advantage. Maybe plowing through lower level BC instances at a quick rate would yield you a decent amount of cash and items and shards.

Mercenary? Running lvl 55-65's through instances, letting them loot what they like as they go. Or charging to help do the paladin/warlock mount quests :P

You asked for it :)
We live, by and large in a capitalistic society / world.
So, the best way is to simply buy it. Time is money. If you believe that your time is valuable enough to avoid doing the same stuff over and over again (not fun) and you can find somebody else who is willing to do the same stuff over and over again but for a rate you find agreeable - then have at it.
But that avoids the bigger issue. You should not have to feel forced to buy gold in the first place in order to advance your characters.
The sad part is that getting 5 flying mounts... is well... a huge undertaking. One that would be far more interesting if it was not so... well... boring and repetitive.
So - while most people are going to say "grind for it" or daily quests, etc. I personally feel the easiest approach is to use the economic system and its unique adaptation to this particular game and its mechanics. Unless you enjoy the thrill or excitement of doing the same things over and over and over and over again. In which case, grind away!
If Bliz wants to do away with farmers, design the game better such that they are not required. Easier said than done of course. I don't blame the farmers. I blame the way the game is designed such that it encourages such activity.

anybody do MC?
How many people does it take to do MC these days? What are the shardable purples worth these days? I figure 10 people @ level 70 can clear MC?
Maybe 2 boxers could get together and with a single tank and some coordinated AoE / DD......
I don't see why not.
Ragnaros only has about 1 Million HP.
So... 10 people @ 1k sustained DPS = 10k / sec.... 100 seconds give or take to down him. Should be doable before the Suns come up.
At least in theory :) Not sure how well stuff scales at 70. Rag is still a "skull" boss.

Have friends that have cleared MC with around 10-12 people without problems, so don't see why not. It's just a shame all the lava/fiery cores are near worthless these days...

The problem with the BOE purples are that outland greens are just as good or better than most of the T1BOE you get in MC, but i havn't looked into disenchanting them.

The problem is that the level 60 epics DE into nexus crystals.
Now, looking at AH prices, nexus crystals sell for about the same price as large brilliant shards on the server I am on. Small prismatic shards are worth less, so the transmute does not really help. Large prismatic shards are not worth enough to close the gap.
I think one is better off farming large brilliant shards in level 60 5man instances, small prismatic in 61-63 5man or large prismatics to begin with.
But - if on the other hand one was to pick something to show off 10boxing, soloing MC may be nice!
Not worth it then. Just farm 5 mans.
I don't want to say this because the implications are..... well.... rather huge.
But if that is true..... what prevents chinaman farmers from putting together $800 or less single machine, software only boxing entire single party farm teams?
When I started boxing, this wasn't possible. The hardware was not there, the complexity was huge and the software was not even written yet.
But now....
Advantages:
Instance only, so you can level up without being reported.
5x the profit with a single "worker".
Getting ganked is less of a problem.
We might start to see chinaman boxers before too long. Not entirely sure that is a good thing for us though. We already take some flak as it is but there are so few of us that Bliz doesn't mind too much.
If all of a sudden chinaman embraces boxing on a large scale..... we might have some issues.
If little Timmy can barely get a group together to take down Strat and he has at most one or two solid attempts per day but chinaman is doing 15 minute baron runs..... 24 hours a day.... looting everything, with 5 character slots for loot....
The entire market would turn upside down if allowed to continue. Assuming chinaman can control 5 characters at once..... which isn't THAT HARD if all you are doing is static content with an AOE class. You only need to aoe heal, aoe damage, single damage and single heal. Maybe 20 buttons total. You could run it on two monitors. Healer on one and DPS on the other. If you wanted me to design the best farming 5 box, I could tear through static content (but would not be very good at PvP/arenas) but who farms those for gold?
