Well i was pvping in av yesterday and i went up against another (solo) sham. He drops a grounding totem and i cast my lightning bolts, well everyone knows that grounding totems only redirects 1 spell to the totem. Well that works if only 1 spell is shot at him. All 4 of my bolts went to the grounding totem. Another thing, a pig in blades edge has an ability to redirect 1 harmful spell back to that caster, well same thing like the grounding totem it redirects all 4 back. So i wonder if this happens to warrior too.

Has this happen to anyone else?

Yeah this is common. It's kind of a pain with us, because we have such perfect synchronicity with our spellcasting. As long as the spell is CAST while the grounding totem is still alive, it'll be redirected.
Sometimes they get lucky and eat your 4x EM-CL. One shaman surviving your I WIN button... hmph.
We use it to our benefit anyway. If you're doing a pull like in the last boss of Blood Furnace, you can get like 5 of those guys' Shadowbolts to all hit one totem at a time depending on how you pull and gather them up.
So turn your weakness into your strength!

The most powerful advantage we have is with Frost Mages, you can pull off a Shatter combo with 1 frost nova on every single Mage, and it's a fully repeatable process.

This type of thing will happen with warriors spell reflect also. Shoot 5 chainlighting at a warrior if he spell reflects they come back at you.

The Terrok Initiates in Sek Halls have a spell reflect ability also. Found that out the hard way. But your grounding totems will eat what is reflected back at you.

4x Lb + Straight up 4x EM+NS+CL and a SWD down one lousy grounding totem.

Beat that. :P

Just open with Purge first :)

Just open with Purge first :)

Did that, he dropped grounding the instant after I purged. :p I always purge first tho. And that does often help, but you can still be unlucky :p

can you add in another macro for that instance that will send one bolt first and the others .6 seconds later? Like a /castsequence reset combonation

Castsequence with a reset modifier is not against the TOS. You are not automating anything. LIke the first keypress will start casting your lightning bolt on your main toon, and then the second keypress will start the cast on your remaining toons, you just have to make sure to time it so it is .6 seconds after because I think the grounding totem will absorb everything in the .5 second span of time when it gets hit. Warrior Spell Reflect 'buff' you get when you use it will reflect everything in a .5 second span so I think grounding would work the same way. Something like this? (i'm not a macro expert yet, seems doable though from all the examples out there)

/castsequence reset=x lightning bolt,,,

/castsequence reset=x ,lightning bolt,,

/castsequence reset=x ,lightning bolt,,

/castsequence reset=x ,lightning bolt,,

Note that if someone reflects a lightning bolt at you -- it can be absorbed by YOUR grounding totem. ;)

sry it's monday (my second mistake today). When thought you where talking about auto after .6 seconds. Well if you link 1 set of action bar to 1 purge and the other to lightning bolt. Hopefully buy the time lb is done casting purge would kill the totem sense purge is instant cast. the other action can be having all shams lightning bolt.

See my post in the pvp forum about putting nuke on round robin.

I cast sequence my Frost Shocks so only 1 fires at a time, and if I fire every 2 seconds, the target is pretty much snared all the time.

Guess what:

CHAIN LIGHTNING IS COUNTED AS AN AOE, and thus does not get reflected nor eaten.

Pew pew away.

It definatly does. Get eaten by a grounding. I had it happen quite a few times. Especially annoying when I use my ns+em+cl button.

If I see an opposing shammy get ready for that, I just hit the break key on Keyclone. Then only 1 guy casts the spells, eats the grounding totem, and the other 4 get to hit a real target.
